Job Description Birdi Systems, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Senior Access Control Field Technician to support the installation, configuration, troubleshooting, and long-term support of enterprise-level electronic security systems. This role is ideal for a hands-on technical expert who can operate independently in the field, lead site-level execution, and serve as a trusted technical resource for customers and project teams. This position plays a key role in supporting new deployments, retrofits, system upgrades, and ongoing maintenance for access control, video surveillance, and integrated security platforms. Key Responsibilities: • Act as the lead field technician and on-site technical resource for access control and security system projects, • Install, configure, program, and support enterprise access control, video management, and intrusion detection systems, • Troubleshoot and resolve complex system issues involving hardware, software, and networking components, • Install and service electrified locking hardware, including mag locks, electric strikes, panic hardware, mortise locks, and related door components, • Install, terminate, test, and document low-voltage cabling (CAT5e/CAT6) and associated infrastructure, • Configure controllers, panels, readers, power supplies, cameras, and network devices, • Perform system commissioning, upgrades, preventative maintenance, and post-installation support, • Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical documentation, • Fabricate and assemble device components for IDC or control enclosures as required, • Coordinate with general contractors, electricians, IT teams, and customer stakeholders, • Train end users on system operation and basic maintenance, • Maintain accurate service documentation, redlines, as-builts, and work orders, • Ensure compliance with NEC, NFPA, safety standards, and BSI quality expectations, • Stay current with emerging access control and physical security technologies Required Qualifications: • 7+ years of hands-on experience with electronic security systems, with a strong focus on access control, • Experience with enterprise platforms such as:, • Lenel, AMAG, Software House (CCURE), Genetec, Avigilon, RS2, Brivo, DMP, Hirsch, or similar, • Strong background with IP-based video surveillance systems (Axis, Hanwha, Avigilon, Milestone, ExacqVision, etc.), • Advanced troubleshooting skills across hardware, software, and networked systems, • Working knowledge of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, VLANs, PoE, switches), • Proven experience installing and servicing electrified door hardware, • Ability to work independently, manage multiple job sites, and prioritize tasks effectively, • Strong customer-facing communication and documentation skills, • Valid driver’s license and ability to pass background and badging requirements Preferred Qualifications: • Experience supporting aviation, transportation, government, or other high-security environments, • Prior experience acting as a technical lead or mentoring junior technicians, • Manufacturer certifications for access control, CCTV, or intrusion systems Additional Requirements: • Ability to meet government or airport badging requirements, • Clean driving record Why Join BSI: • Work on large-scale, mission-critical security projects, • Hands-on technical role with autonomy and impact, • Exposure to leading access control and situational awareness technologies, • Supportive team environment with opportunities for growth and certificationCompany DescriptionBirdi Systems, Inc.
