Job Description Baker Ruby’s Southern Kitchen 4410 Mitchellville Road Bowie Maryland, 20716 Job Duties/Requirements: The ideal candidate will have a strong background in baking and pastry arts, with experience in creating a variety of breads, pastries, and desserts. The Baker will be responsible for producing high-quality baked goods that meet our company’s standards for taste and presentation. Please note: This position is both full-time and part-time. Some weekend and holiday shifts are required. Essential Functions: * Prepare and bake a wide range of bread, pastries, cakes, and desserts according to recipes and company standards. * Ensure all baked goods are produced in a timely manner to meet service demands. * Follow new recipes and presentation styles to enhance the menu offerings. * Ensures that the product quality, freshness, and presentation meet the appropriate company standards and specifications. * Maintain and exhibit a solid food knowledge and understanding of all food products– and is able to skillfully apply culinary and cooking techniques. * Maintain consistency in taste, texture, and appearance of all baked items. * Monitor the quality of ingredients and finished products to ensure the highest standards. * Taste and evaluate products to maintain flavor profiles. * Assist in managing inventory of baking supplies and ingredients, assist in placing orders as necessary. * Organize, submit, and distribute necessary information and paperwork to staff members. * Ensure proper storage and handling of all baking ingredients. * Maintain cleanliness and organization of the baking area, adhering to food safety and sanitation standards. * Follow all health and safety regulations to ensure a safe working environment. * Work closely with other kitchen staff to coordinate baking schedules and service needs. * Provide training and support to junior bakers or kitchen staff as needed. * Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications/Skills/Educational Requirements: Previous experience as a baker in a restaurant or bakery setting is desired. Strong knowledge of baking techniques, ingredients, and equipment. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Excellent attention to detail and creativity in presentation. Strong communication and teamwork skills. Culinary degree or relevant certification is a plus. High school diploma or GED is preferred, but not required. Must be able to pass a Level II background check Job Type: Full-time/ Part Time Pay Rate: $16 -$20 (Commensurate with experience)
