Job Description Job Title Location Department FLSA Reports to Date Bistro Server Part-Time South Franklin Circle Dining Services Non-Exempt Director of Dining Services May 2020 SCHEDULE: PART-TIME Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday-10:00am-3:00pm Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday-10:00am-3:00pm General Purpose: Responsible for providing positive Member and guest interactions while serving in a friendly and efficient manner and play an integral role in ensuring our customers have exceptional dining experiences. Servers are expected to be attentive to our Members and Guests needs, making them feel welcome, comfortable, important and relaxed. Focus is on customer satisfaction, professional appearance and service as well as a clean dining environment. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: • Actively works the Bistro casual dining room or banquet area in a professional manner while demonstrating genuine respect and care to members and guests., • Ability to accurately take food and beverage orders, punch in orders and closeout orders in our Full count POS (Point of Sale Cash Register) system, and efficiently serve our guests, • Provide welcoming phone greeting and follow Guest ordering procedure; assist with to go and delivery orders, • Working knowledge of various changing menus with the ability to explain the Bistro menu ingredients, preparation technique and available substitutions, • Ability to maintain politeness and positivity with our aging customers, listening carefully to determine the desires of the patrons and act accordingly., • Aware of the issues aging seniors may have and treat them with compassion, • Working knowledge or the ability to learn about special diet food and liquid consistencies in order to properly serve our members with specific dietary needs, • Maintain table setting by removing courses as completed; replenishing utensil; refilling water glasses and beverages; being alert to patron spills or other special needs, • Ability to multitask in order to serve the needs of various diners at the same time, • Promptly address customer service issues and refer customers to management when necessary, • Actively participates in the timely set-up, break-down and side work of the day to day front of house operations as well as communicates inventory needs, • Aware of events, special programs and catering that will impact the days service, • Works with Bistro Manager, Servers, Catering and Event Planner and Kitchen staff to create a positive, pleasant and efficient dining experience with compassion and care towards the members, guests and fellow associates, • Possess an exceptional work ethic, with the ability to maintain a high level of productivity without constant, direct supervision, • Assist with special events as needed Judson Core Values: This position requires incumbents to exhibit the skills necessary to represent and support Judson’s Core Values: Respectfulness; Empowerment; Communication; Integrity; Teamwork; and Excellence. Minimum Qualifications, Education and Certifications: • High school diploma or GED., • ServSafe alcohol certified or other similar course, training will be provided if needed, • Ability to read, write, and follow written and oral instructions., • Complies with health and sanitation guidelines, aware of State and County expectations and actively work on being “State Ready”, • Aware of surroundings. Clean uniform, proper attire, and name tag are expectations. No personal cell phone use in restaurants and common public areas, • 2 year full time or equivalent part-time experience in a casual dining restaurant, • Correctly enter and close out orders in our Full Count POS (Point of Sale Cash Register) system, • Experience working with the elderly preferred., • Positive interpersonal skills and excellent oral communication skills are required., • Physical demands may include kneeling, climbing ladders, reaching, pushing, manipulating, talking, hearing, standing for extended periods, crouching, stooping, walking, lifting up to 40 pounds, and repetitive motion., • South Franklin Circle serves breakfast, lunch and dinner daily. Working variable weekends, holidays and special event caterings are an expectation. Working Conditions: Kitchen and Dining Room environment. Tier I: as described above Tier II: Tier I, 4 years full time or equivalent part- experience in casual dining ability to set up and serve as a bartender, ability to expedite, ability to work the hot line as needed to prepare simple orders in the event the cook is unavailable able to work in the Radius/Crane house dining room as needed Tier III: Tier II, 6 years experiences in a fine dining as stated above, able to train new servers on the Full Count POS system, serve as lead in the dining room, at parties or events with no direct supervision, complete daily dashboard reports Current South Franklin Dining Services Associates are given special consideration to move up the Tier system based upon their increased skills, experience and knowledge of service Acknowledgement: The above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by people assigned to this classification.
