Position Summary The Controller will oversee the financial operations of a nationwide live entertainment labor company with multiple subsidiaries. This role is responsible for ensuring the integrity of financial reporting, establishing and maintaining internal controls, managing subsidiary accounting functions, and leading a high-performing finance team. The Controller will play a critical role in supporting executive leadership with accurate financial insights, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and implementing best practices to support a rapidly scaling, multi-entity business model. Key Responsibilities Financial Leadership & Oversight • Lead the accounting and finance functions across multiple subsidiaries nationwide, ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant financial reporting., • Oversee consolidation of financial statements across all entities for monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting., • Manage the general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll accounting, and month-end close processes across all subsidiaries., • Ensure compliance with GAAP and company policies, including intercompany transactions and eliminations., • Oversee tax filings, audits, and regulatory compliance for all jurisdictions where the company operates., • Establish and maintain strong internal controls to safeguard company assets., • Ensure financial compliance with federal, state, and local labor and tax regulations, including multi-state payroll compliance., • Provide financial oversight and support to subsidiaries, ensuring alignment with corporate policies while respecting operational differences., • Partner with operational leaders to create subsidiary-level budgets and forecasts., • Lead, mentor, and develop accounting staff to ensure efficiency, accuracy, and career growth., • Promote collaboration between finance, HR, payroll, and operations to ensure seamless support for all business units. Qualifications • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Master's/MBA preferred)., • CPA designation strongly preferred., • 8+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience, including at least 3 years in a Controller or senior finance leadership role., • Experience managing accounting for multi-entity, multi-state organizations; live entertainment, staffing, or labor industry experience a plus., • Strong knowledge of GAAP, tax compliance, and payroll accounting., • Proficiency in ERP/accounting systems (Sage Intacct) and advanced Excel skills., • Proven ability to consolidate financials across multiple subsidiaries., • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
