They will provide mission expertise for current and emerging Space systems and capabilities. While responsible for supporting the SpMA Framework (identification, assessment, risk management, and monitoring and reporting), particular emphasis is on mission decomposition and identification of viable risk management solutions to Space strategic missions. They will interview mission, capability, and mission system SMEs and partners to establish and document risk within the mission, capability, and mission system, such as single points of failure and degradation, lack of resiliency, and conditional risk, as well as risk in how the capability or mission system is supplied to and used by the Joint Force and warfighter. This information will be inputted into the designated SpMA repository. This position requires knowledge and skills in writing and speaking effectively to communicate technical information across the SpMA community and partners and the ability to gather, assemble, and analyze facts; draw conclusions; and devise risk mitigation courses of action for senior leadership decision. Essential Functions: • Conduct Level 1-3 analysis and mission decomposition for launch missions and other missions, ad-hoc mission priorities, wargames, training exercises, operational planning teams, mission-specific conferences, and attending SME working groups., • Develop a systematic process for mission decomposition of strategic Space missions and identification of risk-to-strategic mission as clearly and as qualitatively as possible., • Clearly define SpMAs strategic missions and mission owners., • Input the HQ USSF launch mission assets in the SpMA COI in MA repository (such as FADE)., • Map the HQ USSF launch mission asset relationships and dependencies in the SpMA COI in MA repository., • Complete dependency mapping of mission-relevant assets to the HQ USSF launch mission assets in the SpMA COI in an MA repository., • Produce a prioritized list of mission-relevant assets requiring repair, upgrades, or replacement to inform other interested communities., • Document risk-to-strategic mission and associated mission impact in the MA repository., • Convey SpMA risk-to-strategic mission for the selected mission to the DoD MA community, ensuring integration into the communitys processes and procedures, including the CJCS DCA nomination and management processes. Competencies: • Demonstrated ability to convey complex mission and technical issues in a clear, actionable manner for senior military and civilian leadership, • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with the ability to integrate data into strategic recommendations, • Effective communicator, able to engage confidently across all organizational levels and within Joint/Service working groups, • Skilled in developing structured plans and solutions to achieve program objectives and support enterprise decision-making, • Capable of working independently with minimal supervision as well as collaboratively within small, high-performing teams, • Proven ability to synthesize large volumes of technical and policy into concise reports, briefings, and recommendations, • Proficient in Microsoft Office and collaboration platforms; SharePoint experience a plus, • Proficiency in FADE a plus, • Professional presence, integrity, and adaptability to operate in high-visibility, fast-paced headquarters environments Education & Experience Requirements: • Bachelors degree in a relevant field (e.g., Engineering, Sciences, Intelligence Studies, or related discipline), • Minimum of 7 years of DoD experience, including direct involvement with space operations, space intelligence, or mission planning, • Experience applying DoD risk management processes to assess mission dependencies and infrastructure vulnerabilities, • Prior experience supporting MAAs or similar risk-informed prioritization efforts strongly preferred Desired Certificates & Licenses: • Certified Space Professional (CSP), • Completion of Joint Professional Military Education (JPME) Phase I or comparable Service-level professional development a plus Additional Requirements • Security Clearance: Must be able to obtain a DoDTS-SCI clearance.Applicants will be subject to a government security investigation and eligibility determination., • Valid Passport: Possession of a current passport with a minimum of 8 months remaining until expiration., • Hybrid Role: This role includes monthly travel to a local designated government site to work on secure networks and maintain NIPR/SIPR/JWICS access., • Travel Flexibility: Willingness and ability to travel CONUS and OCONUS approximately 25% of the time., • Telecommunication, subject to mission requirements., • Work Environment Compliance: Commitment to maintaining a drug-free work workplace, U.S. Citizenship, and possession of a valid state driver's license.
