About the Role: The Configuration Manager / Quality Inspectoris responsible forestablishing, maintaining, and enforcing configuration control and quality inspection processes for aviation electronics and mission-critical systems throughout the product lifecycle. This role ensures product integrity, traceability, and compliance from design release through production, test, delivery, and sustainment. The position supports cross-functional teams including Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, Programs, and Quality to ensure hardware, documentation, and dataremain aligned with approved baselines, customer requirements, and applicable aerospace standards. The position reports to the Director of Operations and requires strong attention to detail, independence, and discretion. Location: Irvine, CA, fully onsite. Key Responsibilities: • Establish andmaintainconfiguration baselines for products, including drawings, specifications, bills of material (BOMs), firmware/software identifiers, test procedures, and as-built records., • Administer and enforce formal change control processes (ECO/ECN), ensuring changes areproperly reviewed, approved, documented, and implemented without disruption to production or deliveries., • Maintainaccurateconfiguration, revision, serialization, and traceability data across ERP, PLM/PDM, and document control systems., • Perform incoming, in-process, and final inspections of electronic assemblies, subassemblies, and mechanical components to verify conformance to drawings, specifications, and workmanship standards., • Review certificates of conformance, test records, and supplier documentation to ensure completeness and compliance., • Execute or support First Article Inspections (FAI) and configuration audits, verifying alignment between released configurations and as-built or as-delivered products., • Identify, document, and manage nonconforming material; support MRB activities and verify corrective actions are properly implemented., • Collaborate with Engineering, Production, and Supply Chain to resolve configuration discrepancies, quality issues, and documentation gaps., • Ensure configuration and quality records are complete,accurate, and audit-ready for internal, customer, and regulatory audits., • Support continuous improvement initiatives related to configuration control, inspection processes, data integrity, and system efficiency., • Promote adherence to internal procedures, quality standards, customer requirements, and export-controlled data handling practices. Required Skills, Experience and Behaviors: • Bachelors degree preferred., • Minimum threeyearsofexperiencein Configuration Management, Document Control, Quality Inspection, or a closely related role within aerospace,defence, or electronics manufacturing environments., • Working knowledge of aerospace quality and configuration standards such as AS9100, EIA-649, AS9102, and applicable IPC workmanship standards., • Experience performing inspections of electronic assemblies (PCBs, SMT, wiring/harnesses) and mechanical parts using basic inspection tools and visual aids., • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, BOMs, and revision histories., • Experience working with ERP/MRP and PLM/PDM or document control systems; familiarity with Sage or similar systems is preferred., • Strong attention to detail, data accuracy, and documentation discipline., • Effective written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate across engineering, production, and supply chain teams., • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a regulated, fast-paced environment., • High levelof integrity and ability to handle proprietary, sensitive, and export-controlled information appropriately.
