Bosch Building Technologies Integrator Business The regional system integration business called Bosch Building Technologies offers solutions and customized services for building security, energy efficiency, and building automation for commercial buildings and infrastructure projects Bosch started its Integrator Business in North America through the acquisition of Climatec in 2015. Climatec expanded Bosch’s role as a comprehensive supplier of energy, building automation and security solutions. Job Summary: The candidate will report to the hiring manager and serve as a technical lead for Bosch Building Technologies, responsible for developing custom DDC logic using Alerton VisualLogic and configuring high-level GUI workstations within the Compass or Envision environments. By integrating complex third-party protocols and performing real-world software tuning, the programmer will ensure that advanced HVAC sequences and network architectures are executed precisely to meet project specifications and budget goals. Responsibilities: • Design Industrial Building Automation Controls projects to meet scope of work and budget as defined by contract documents and sales estimate ensuring protocol interoperability and integration., • Provide AutoCAD/Visio Climatec Design Tool labor and direction as required to develop functional DDC code, GUI, and other engineered documents accurately and professionally., • Develop and implement custom control logic using Alerton VisualLogic (DDC Programming) to meet complex sequence of operations., • Design and configure Alerton Compass or Envision for BACnet workstations, including web-server setup and user permission heirarchies., • Perform advanced integration of third-party devices via BACnet IP/MSTP, Modbus, or LonWorks into the Alerton global controller (ACM/BCM) environment., • Perform point-to-point checkout and software tuning to ensure the programmed logic performs as intended in real-world conditions., • Interpret project documents, estimate, and other information as available to select the proper equipment to achieve the scope of work required in the most effective and functional manner., • Provide detailed sequence of operations as required., • Complete Bill of Material (BOM) for every design project., • Ability to use MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook electronic e-mail system., • Maintain clear documentation of design systems, wiring diagrams and software configurations., • Provide mentoring and direct day-to-day supervision to level 1 positions., • Proficiency in engineering design software or drafting tools such as AutoCAD and Microsoft Visio CDT., • Ability to design large projects with some deviation using standard tools, products, and practices., • Develop system designs for BAS, including load calculations, equipment selection, and integration of various control systems., • Assist Sales team during estimation/bid phase of the project by providing design support., • Collaborate with Project Managers to assist in generating Request for Information (RFIs) to clarify and resolve design issues and recommend appropriate solutions as necessary., • Accurately forecast necessary labor required to design a complete project and track this over time to achieve budget and forecast goals., • Provide support for ongoing service engineering and support for existing building systems., • Suggest/recommend new products that provide better functionality and value to projects., • Facilitate with external customers/vendors as required to ensure accurate and timely engineering., • Assist in managing the timeline, budget, and coordination of projects., • Provide support to Climatec and other contractors to solve building operating issues that go beyond the control’s operation., • Bachelor's degree in electrical, mechanical, or a related technical field. Prior work experience in the building automation field can supersede a degree., • 3+ years of experience in HVAC design and graphics and/or building automation systems design or graphics., • 3+ years of direct experience programming Alerton Systems (specifically Visual Logic and Compass), • Knowledge and understanding of specific software(s) and tool(s) such as Ibex, Envision, and Compass., • Ability to use Wireshark or BACnet discovery tools to diagnose communication "traffic jams" or duplicate device IDs., • Basic understanding of computer systems, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)., • Experience designing and engineering HVAC control systems, including developing sequence of operations and equipment selection., • Proficiency of AutoCAD and/or Visio for BAS Design, • Strong understanding of project documents, scopes of work, and the ability to interpret contract drawings and specifications., • Master's degree in electrical, mechanical, or a related technical field. Extensive (10+ years' experience) work experience in the building automation field can supersede a degree., • Active ACE (Alerton Certified Expert) or ASP (Alerton System Programmer) certification., • 7+ years of experience in HVAC, building automation., • 5+ years of experience with Tridium Niagara (N4/AX) integration(s) into Alerton environments., • Assisting in project estimation, budgeting, and scheduling for BAS components., • Proposing cost-effective technical solutions.
