Position Summary The Vice President, Community Impact Operations (VP) is a strategic, systems-focused leader who will drive internal operations that enable UWNYC’s Community Impact (CI) teams to deliver measurable, equity-driven results. Reporting to the Senior Vice President & Chief Impact Officer, this role designs and leads cross-functional processes that align program needs with internal enabling functions, including Finance, Legal, and Operations. The VP will serve as a critical partner to CI leaders—developing the infrastructure, tools, and coordination mechanisms required to deliver and scale high-impact initiatives. They will also support collaboration across CI units, ensuring shared learning and best practices are embedded in how the organization delivers community outcomes. The VP will collaborate closely with the VP, Organizational Operations as well as the Business Analyst to align operational infrastructure, compliance systems, and technology tools that support cross-departmental efficiency and impact. Key Areas of Responsibility Strategic Operations & Process Integration • Identify and address gaps in the design and implementation of internal systems that connect program delivery with Finance, Legal, and Operational requirements., • Collaborate with the VP of Organizational Operations to align and integrate operational processes and shared infrastructure across departments., • Standardize workflows and create scalable tools that increase efficiency, transparency, and accountability across CI initiatives., • Identify and resolve operational bottlenecks and gaps between program teams and administrative functions., • Build upon existing systems to create cohesive dashboards, tracking mechanisms, and communications tools that support cross-team execution and alignment on key CI cross-functional projects. Finance Process Leadership • Ensure CI teams have the systems and information needed to manage budgets, spending, and underspending effectively to optimize funding streams, • Help address any systems issues related to grant compliance, fund tracking, budget modifications, and timely reporting for CI-led initiatives and create clear process flows., • Collaborate on the creation of annual and multi-year financial plans that reflect program goals and funding strategies., • Develop written standardized processes for CI teams to engage with Legal in contracting, regulatory compliance, MOUs, and vendor management with the goal of aligning processes and best practices across CI teams, • Coordinate with the VP of Organizational Operations to ensure consistency in compliance practices, risk mitigation tools, and contract workflows across the organization., • Translate legal and risk-management requirements into practical tools and guidance for program staff., • Ensure programs adhere to legal and contractual obligations while minimizing delays in program execution., • Identify and deploy technology tools (project management systems, databases, CRMs) that support planning, implementation, and performance monitoring of CI programs., • In partnership with the VP of Organizational Operations, ensure system compatibility, data governance, and integration across enterprise platforms., • Collaborate with CI leaders to create and manage work plans, track deliverables, and evaluate milestones., • Support Organizational Learning and development team as needed to lead the implementation and oversight of Results-Based Accountability (RBA) metrics across all initiatives., • Create opportunities for knowledge sharing and coordination across CI departments to promote alignment, avoid duplication, and encourage innovation., • Build and maintain centralized resources (toolkits, templates, playbooks, standard operating procedures) that capture and share operational best practices., • Facilitate regular learning sessions, cross-functional workgroups, and communities of practice to drive continuous improvement., • Act as a trusted advisor to the SVP & CIO and CI leadership team on internal operations, resource planning, and cross-departmental initiatives., • Manage high-priority projects that require executive attention, coordination across units, or urgent process development., • Provide coaching, tools, and operational assistance to CI team members to improve execution and impact delivery. Skills & Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree required, advanced degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, or related field preferred., • 10 years of progressive leadership in nonprofit operations, program implementation, or cross-functional project management., • Strong knowledge of nonprofit finance, grant management, and compliance processes., • Demonstrated success in designing systems that enhance efficiency, transparency, and collaboration across departments., • Deep familiarity with collective impact models, multi-sector initiatives, and community-based program delivery., • Exceptional project management skills and proficiency with tools like Asana, Smartsheet, or Salesforce., • Strong strategic thinking, attention to detail, and a commitment to continuous improvement., • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trust and credibility across teams. Salary Range: • $122,930 - $161,749, • The final determination of salary, within this range, will depend on the candidate’s education, skills and experience required for the position.
