Clearance Requirement To be considered for this position, you must have an active TS/SCI. Position Summary The Construction Scheduler provides professional scheduling, planning, and projectcontrol support for construction, renovation, and maintenance projects. You will manage schedules from preconstruction through closeout by developing and updating detailed project timelines, coordinating milestones, monitoring progress, and forecasting potential delays with recommended mitigation strategies. This role serves as the primary scheduling liaison among project managers, engineers, contractors, subcontractors, and client stakeholders, ensuring alignment with scope, cost, and compliance requirements. Success in this position requires strong organizational and analytical skills, expert knowledge of construction scheduling tools and methodologies, and the ability to clearly communicate schedule impacts, dependencies, and alternatives to leadership, project partners, and all stakeholders. Key Responsibilities Scheduling & Planning • Develop, maintain, and manage baseline (master) project schedules across all disciplines (civil/structural, mechanical, electrical, architectural, and other disciplines as applicable)., • Create detailed, resource-loaded, and time-phased schedules across design, procurement, permitting, construction, commissioning, close-out., • Establish task dependencies, critical paths, milestones, deliverables, constraints, and project-level gates/checkpoints., • Track actual progress against the baseline and perform routine schedule updates (weekly or monthly)., • Identify variances, potential delays, and schedule risks; forecast impacts to milestones, deliverables, and project completion dates., • Coordinate with field teams, subcontractors, and stakeholders to obtain status updates and validate progress., • Maintain a schedule risk register, identifying constraints, dependencies, and potential delays., • Recommend corrective actions and recovery plans to address slippages, resource constraints, or conflicts., • Prepare schedule documents, Gantt charts, milestone reports, dashboards, and related project-control logs., • Distribute schedule updates and reports to leadership, project managers, contractors/subcontractors, and other stakeholders., • Ensure all documentation aligns with contract requirements, delivery timelines, and compliance obligations., • Provide schedule input for pre-award planning, procurement and bidding strategies, and contract evaluations., • Review contractor-proposed sequences, durations, and resource allocations for feasibility., • Support change-order and schedule-impact analysis. Continuous Improvement & Process Optimization • Maintain working knowledge of scheduling methodologies, industry best practices, and scheduling software tools., • Recommend improvements to Fusion schedule-management processes, tools, and institutional procedures. Education & Experience • Bachelors degree from an accredited institution (Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, Project Management, or related field preferred)., • Minimum of 812 years demonstrated experience in construction scheduling / project planning (federal or defense-related construction projects preferred)., • Advanced proficiency in scheduling tools such as Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or equivalent, plus Microsoft Office Suite., • Strong understanding of construction processes, sequencing, trade coordination, permitting, procurement lead times, subcontractor integration, and project controls principles., • Strong organizational, analytical, and critical-thinking skills., • Clear and concise communication skills., • Ability to brief leadership, stakeholders, and subcontractors., • Strong coordination and interpersonal skills across multiple disciplinary teams., • Ability to manage multiple assignments, set priorities, and meet deadlines., • Mixed office and construction-site environment; this position is 100% onsite (no remote work)., • Ability to perform walk-downs, attend onsite meetings, and conduct site visits., • Must complete all required construction site and safety training., • Use of PPE (hard hat, safety vest, boots, eye/ear protection) during site visits., • Work may include nights or weekends depending on project deadlines or site schedules.
