Learn more at . Position Overview The account (sales) manager serves as a driving force behind Raising a Reader's mission to transform lives through the power of reading. As the newest account manager to the team, you will implement sales initiatives and utilize matching grant funding to expand Raising a Reader programs to new communities, forge meaningful connections with new and existing customers, and pursue ambitious sales and growth goals annually. Reporting directly to the Vice President Revenue, the account manager will leverage a collaborative spirit and innovative mindset to manage a growing sales pipeline. Responsible for prospecting new and cultivating current customers , this role will play a crucial role in growing the organization's impact and revenue. Additionally, this role will utilize the organization's grant-placement funding as matching funds to support sales efforts. The account manager will be an integral partner within the Revenue team working with development and sales marketing to identify opportunities and grow revenue.. In 2026, this role will have a sales goal to help us reach our 2.45M in sales revenue. This role is ideal for a highly driven, collaborative, organized, and innovative sales professional looking to expand an impactful early literacy family program. Essential Duties and Responsibilities - Successfully implement Raising a Reader's sales program nationally by: • Prospecting to grow your pipeline and leading the sales process for assigned pipeline to closing (~70%), • Develop strategic sales plans for each organization in the role's account portfolio., • Support with setting sales goals and the sales plan/ strategy to meet sales targets, • Co-create and implement the annual sales plan to meet sales and impact goals, • Serve as a face of the organization by developing and maintaining relationships with customers, • Utilize grant placement for match funding or in some cases direct placement to satisfy grant deliverables (~15%), • In partnership with the VP of Revenue review sales statistics based on Team OKRs and org-wide KPIs: o Ability to discuss sales projections to review in weekly 1:1 with VP of Revenue, Ability to speak to the state of your pipeline, prospecing, and strategy o Utilize Salesforce with fidelity to ensure high quality data collection Actively partner with the program team to address customer inquiries and provide the highest quality customer service from outreach, purchase, and hand off to the program team for program implementation. Qualifications: • Aligned with Raising a Reader's mission and core values: o Equity and Inclusion: All people are seen, heard, valued and included. o Relationships: We approach all people and partnerships with kindness, purpose and gratitude. o Families: We are here for families. o Accountability: We believe that results matter. o Essentialism: Our model is effective, simple, agile and elegant, and we prioritize what is essential to scale it effectively. • At least three or more years' of experience of sales experience., • Exceptional communication skills, • Demonstrated excellence in organizational, customer service, project management, communication, presentation, and influence skills, • Strong business acumen and sense with the ability to close deals, • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information, • Proficiency using computers and software such as Microsoft Office, Google Suite applications, and Salesforce, and/or the ability to learn new technologies and software quickly, • Strong problem solver with the ability to make quick, sound decisions and the ability to juggle multiple projects and priorities simultaneously, • Positive, can-do attitude with a solutions-oriented mindset, • Attention to detail and the ability to operate with considerable independence to effectively establish priorities and work accurately under time constraints. Sales experience in a Nonprofit environment is not required but preferred • A demonstrated commitment to advancing racial and socioeconomic justice and working with students and families from diverse communities and backgrounds Compensation and Location Pay: This is a full-time, exempt position. Thepay range is $75,000 - $90,000 annually with additional bonus potential based on achieving sales goals. . Final compensation amounts are determined by multiple factors, including candidate experience and geographic market, and may vary from the amounts provided. Generally, we expect this role to be paid near the $80,000 -$85,000 mark; however, we may pay more for specific geographic regions and/or highly desirable skills, experiences, and/or abilities. New staff are rarely brought in at the top of the range to ensure internal equity and to leave room for salary growth during an employee's tenure at Raising a Reader.
