Job DescriptionJob Title: EVS Technician – North Austin Hospital Job Description This role focuses on maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary environment throughout a modern hospital facility in North Austin. As an Environmental Services (EVS) Technician, you will clean patient rooms, discharge rooms, and public areas while adhering to strict sanitation standards to support patient care and overall hospital safety. Responsibilities • Clean and sanitize patient rooms, including occupied and discharge rooms, according to hospital sanitation standards., • Clean and maintain public areas such as lobbies, corridors, restrooms, and other common spaces throughout the hospital., • Wipe down and disinfect high-touch surfaces, fixtures, and equipment to help prevent the spread of infection., • Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors in patient care areas, public spaces, and support areas as assigned., • Collect, remove, and properly dispose of trash, biohazard waste, and soiled laundry in accordance with hospital policies and safety procedures., • Replenish supplies such as paper products, soap, and other cleaning materials in designated areas., • Follow established cleaning schedules and task lists to ensure all assigned areas meet or exceed cleanliness and safety standards., • Comply with all hospital infection control, safety, and sanitation protocols at all times., • Work effectively in a fast-paced hospital environment while responding to urgent cleaning needs as they arise., • Collaborate with other EVS team members and hospital staff to support a clean and safe environment for patients, visitors, and employees., • Work a rotating weekend schedule to support 24/7 hospital operations across first, second, or third shift.Essential Skills, • At least 1 year of housekeeping or janitorial experience., • Experience in a hospital or hotel environment is preferred., • Ability to work comfortably in a medical setting, including exposure to blood, trauma, and other clinical conditions., • Capability to lift and push 50–75 pounds as part of daily duties., • Ability to stand and be on your feet for 6–8 hours per day in a fast-paced environment., • Strong attention to detail and commitment to meeting sanitation and safety standards., • Reliability and flexibility to work rotating weekends and any assigned shift (first, second, or third).Additional Skills & Qualifications, • Previous experience in environmental services, housekeeping, or janitorial roles within healthcare or hospitality settings., • Familiarity with infection control practices and safe handling of cleaning chemicals., • Strong time management skills to complete tasks efficiently in a high-volume environment., • Good communication skills to work effectively with EVS teammates and hospital staff., • Willingness to learn new procedures and adapt to changing hospital needs.Why Work Here? Work Environment You will work in a fast-paced hospital environment that operates 24/7, with three primary shifts available: first shift (7:00 a.m.–3:30 p.m.), second shift (3:00 p.m.–11:30 p.m.), and third shift (10:30 p.m.–7:00 a.m.). The role requires rotating weekend work to support continuous hospital operations. The facility is the newest hospital in the area, offering a clean, modern setting with up-to-date equipment and infrastructure. You will frequently be on your feet for most of your shift and will regularly lift or push 50–75 pounds while performing cleaning and transport tasks. The environment includes exposure to clinical areas and medical conditions, including blood and trauma, and requires adherence to hospital safety and infection control procedures at all times. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Austin, TX. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.50/hr.
