About the Role \n PTI Tech is seeking a hands-on Supply Chain Manager to lead purchasing, strategic sourcing, supplier management, inventory control, and warehouse/logistics operations. \n This role owns strategic purchasing and supplier relationships while providing overall oversight of warehouse and logistics execution through the Warehouse Supervisor. The ideal candidate brings strong manufacturing supply-chain experience and understands how purchasing decisions, supplier performance, inventory, and material availability directly impact production and customer delivery. \n What You'll Do \n Purchasing & Strategic Sourcing \n\n • Own purchasing activities for raw materials, plastics/resins, metal feedstock and powders, components, packaging, production supplies, and outside services.\n, • Obtain competitive quotations and evaluate suppliers based on price, quality, lead time, freight, payment terms, reliability, and total cost.\n, • Negotiate pricing, payment terms, minimum order quantities, lead times, freight terms, and supplier agreements.\n, • Source, qualify, develop, and manage suppliers based on cost, quality, delivery, capacity, responsiveness, and overall performance.\n, • Develop continuity plans and proactively address supplier and supply risks.\n, • Manage secondary and outsourced-process suppliers and coordinate with Quality on certifications, nonconformances, and corrective actions.\n, • Support quoting activities by obtaining current material, component, freight, tooling, and outside-service costs.\n\n Inventory, Materials & ERP/MRP \n\n • Use ERP/MRP demand, production schedules, usage, lead times, safety requirements, and inventory levels to determine purchasing timing and quantities.\n, • Maintain accurate purchasing and supplier master data to support reliable MRP output.\n, • Oversee inventory-control strategy, including ABC classifications and cycle counting.\n, • Analyze inventory turns, days on hand, slow-moving, excess, and obsolete inventory.\n, • Investigate inventory and material discrepancies and drive corrective actions.\n, • Partner with Production, Planning, and Warehouse teams to ensure materials are available and staged for scheduled jobs.\n\n Warehouse, Logistics & Compliance \n\n • Directly manage the Warehouse Supervisor and maintain overall accountability for warehouse and logistics operations.\n, • Oversee shipping, receiving, inventory accuracy, material staging, warehouse organization, 5S, and on-time customer shipments.\n, • Oversee freight and carrier relationships, including LTL, FedEx, UPS, and other parcel carriers.\n, • Manage customer and supplier returns/RMAs and ensure accurate ERP transactions.\n, • Ensure domestic and international shipments comply with applicable ITAR, export-control, customs, and other regulated-shipping requirements.\n\n Leadership & Continuous Improvement \n\n • Partner with Finance, Production, Planning, Engineering/NPD, Quality, Sales, and Warehouse teams to resolve shortages, supplier issues, inventory exposure, pricing changes, and delivery risks.\n, • Lead and develop the Warehouse Supervisor through clear priorities, expectations, coaching, and accountability.\n, • Establish and improve standard work across purchasing, inventory, shipping, receiving, supplier management, and warehouse operations.\n, • Track KPIs and implement improvements related to cost, supplier performance, delivery, inventory accuracy, material availability, freight, and working capital.\n\n What We're Looking For \n Required Qualifications \n\n • 5+ years of progressive experience in purchasing, procurement, supply chain, inventory, or materials management within a manufacturing environment.\n, • Demonstrated experience managing suppliers and owning material availability, cost, and inventory performance.\n, • Experience sourcing and negotiating raw materials, components, outside services, supplier agreements, payment terms, freight, lead times, and other commercial conditions.\n, • Strong ERP/MRP experience with the ability to validate demand, inventory, lead times, supplier data, and system recommendations.\n, • Working knowledge of inventory control, ABC classification, cycle counting, warehouse operations, material flow, and supplier performance.\n, • Demonstrated leadership experience with strong analytical, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.\n\n Preferred Qualifications \n\n • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, Operations, or a related field; equivalent manufacturing experience may be considered.\n, • Experience purchasing plastics/resins, metal feedstock or powders, and outsourced manufacturing services.\n, • Experience in injection molding, MIM, CNC machining, or similar engineered manufacturing environments.\n, • Experience in defense, aerospace, medical, or other regulated manufacturing environments.\n, • Familiarity with ITAR/export controls, customs/export licensing, ISO 9001/AS9100, PPAP, or customer-specific supplier requirements.\n, • Experience with supplier scorecards, RFQ/RFP processes, cost modeling, total-cost analysis, LTL freight negotiation, and parcel-carrier management.\n, • IQMS/DELMIAWorks experience is preferred.\n\n What Success Looks Like \n\n • Strong supplier on-time delivery and quality performance.\n, • Improved material costs and controlled purchase price variance.\n, • Accurate inventory and completion of required cycle counts.\n, • High on-time customer shipment performance.\n, • Improved inventory turns and reduced excess/obsolete inventory.\n, • Reliable material availability with minimal preventable production interruptions.\n, • Effective freight-cost and carrier-performance management.\n\n Work Environment \n This is an on-site, hands-on manufacturing leadership role. The position requires regular movement between the office, warehouse, shipping/receiving, and manufacturing areas to verify material flow, inventory conditions, and supply-chain execution. \n The environment includes production-floor conditions, warehouse traffic, forklifts, trucks, noise, and temperature variation. Required PPE must be used in designated areas. \n Occasional supplier visits or business travel may be required.
