Summary: The Insulation Fabricator role is a heavy manufacturing position that focuses on the fabrication of formed and fabricated components, vital internal insulating sub-components of our transformers. In this position, operators would train to set up, layout, material select, index, and fabricate components using such tooling as calibrated measurement tools, an array of small hand tools, powered, pneumatic, and machine specific tooling to design specification and quantity per requested order. Operators will learn to operate, set material per specification, and complete assemblies to completion. The operator will be expected to select, load, and finish the material used in the operations to known or trained criteria. Industrial Machines that will be trained on are Shear, Corrugator, Cylinder Forming Machine, Rib Mill, Static Ring Winder, Circle Shear, Tiger Saw, Punch Press, Press Machine, Drill Press, Band Saw, Planer, Routing Table, Table Saw, and Belt Sander; including a variety of other specialized tooling like grinders, belt sanders, and tap / die tooling. These operations and procedures will involve both single and team movements like bending, twisting, kneeling, and utilizing overhead cranes, forklifts, vacuum lifts, or other powered industrial vehicles. Operators will be expected to train, sustain, and demonstrate continued proficiency in their technical skills; including further development in additional levels all to the highest levels of safety, craftsmanship, and professionalism – all with a positive attitude and strong work ethic. Duties: * Safety: Uphold all safety protocols and wear proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) * 5S: Maintain, Clean, and Organize Work Areas * Collaboration: Work closely with Supervision, Team Members, Team Leads, Instructors, Engineering, Quality Assurance departments, and other functions as required. * Precision & Quality: Follow Print Drawings, Technical Data Sheets, Bills of Material and specifications to ensure exact alignment, spacing, and assembly of Components * Receive assignments and instructions from Supervisor - both Verbal and Written * Complete specific Contamination Control, Inspection Requirements, Cleanliness Maintenance Procedures; such as Vacuuming, Performing Magnetic Sweeps, Wipedowns, and Cleaning Equipment/Tooling * Select, Load, Set Up, Adjust, and Execute Operations of assigned / trained Industrial Fabrication Machines * Fabricate and Machine by process per Trained Procedures, Specifications/Criteria, and Prints/BOMs * Verify accuracy of Fabricated Components as designated by In-Process Checklists; including Criteria, Tolerances, and Clearances * Perform Minor Repairs/Defects and Tool/Equipment Maintenance (Write Repair Work Orders as Required) * Repair Defects found in Inspection or Another Department as Needed/Required * Assist in Training, Safety, and Protocol Education of New Operators * Conduct Self Inspection of Winding and Assist Others in Inspection Verifications of Quality Skills: * Proficiency with Hand Tools, Powered, Drill Press, Routers, Sanders, Tap / Die, Planers, Shears (Auto/Manual), Press Brake, Punch Press, Milling Machine, Drying Ovens, Tiger Saw Auto Saw, Table Saw, Corrugate Spinner, Ring Spinner Insulator, Cylinder Forming Winder, Cylinder Mandrel, Pneumatic Tooling, Cranes, Forklifts, Powered Industrial Vehicles, and Lift Apparatus * Materials used include, Cellulose Materials, Hival, T4/TX Resin Impregnated Cellulose Material, Formed Cellulose Materials, Fiber Rod, Wood Dowel, Wood Laminate, Nomex, Glue, Tuck Paper, Blue Craft Paper, Copper Braided Wire, Isopropyl Alcohol, Sand Paper, Abrasives, and Cleaning / Solvent Agents (Variant), HyVolt II Mineral Oil * Strong Mechanical Aptitude and Spatial Awareness * Ability to Lift a Minimum of 50lbs, Multiple times within a Work Shift * Comfort working on your feet for 7 hours or more in a Work Shift, including Bending, Kneeling, and Twisting * Attention to detail with the ability to interpret Complex Technical Drawings * Team-Orientated Mindset with Strong Communication Skills & Commitment to Safety, Precision, and Craftsmanship Education & Experience: Required: High School Diploma or Equivalent Preferred: Prior experience in Fabrication, Heavy Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Power Equipment Pay Details: $27.56 per hour Equal Opportunity Employer/Veterans/Disabled Military connected talent encouraged to apply To read our Candidate Privacy Information Statement, which explains how we will use your information, please navigate to The Company will consider qualified applicants with arrest and conviction records in accordance with federal, state, and local laws and/or security clearance requirements, including, as applicable: • The California Fair Chance Act, • Los Angeles City Fair Chance Ordinance, • Los Angeles County Fair Chance Ordinance for Employers
