Job Description Role: Certified Medical Assistant | Location: Vista, CA | Schedule: Full-Time, Mon–Fri, 8 AM–5 PM About the Practice We are a specialized Orofacial Pain practice with offices in San Diego and Los Angeles, dedicated to diagnosing and managing TMJ disorders, facial pain, headaches, and related conditions. Our team is committed to providing expert, compassionate, patient-centered care in a calm and professional environment. Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Medical Assistant / Medical Receptionist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting our providers, ensuring patients receive the highest quality of care, and contributing to the smooth and efficient operation of our medical practice. It's an ideal position for someone who is looking to grow within a fast growing company. Key Responsibilities • Room patients, record vitals & medical history, assist with procedures (injections, scans, splints, Botox, blood draws), • Prepare/clean exam rooms, manage supplies, sterilize instruments, • Document accurately in EMR (AthenaHealth), • Schedule appointments, verify insurance, manage referrals & authorizations, • Answer phones, support patient flow, and process payments, • Strong communication skills (verbal and written) with patients and team members, • Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems (AthenaHealth preferred) and Microsoft Office, • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities in a fast-paced environment, • Knowledge of medical terminology, procedures, and best practices in patient care, • Compassion, empathy, and professionalism in patient interactions, • Attention to detail for accurate documentation and adherence to protocols, • High school diploma or equivalent required, • Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA or equivalent) required, • Phlebotomy certification required, • CPR/BLS certification (child, infant, adult) required, • Minimum 1–2 years of medical office experience (front or back office), • Full-time, Monday–Friday (8:00 AM – 5:00 PM), • Competitive hourly wage (commensurate with experience), • Health insurance, • Paid time off and holidays, • Professional development opportunities, • Supportive, collaborative work environment Company DescriptionFacial Pain Specialists (FPS) is a fast-growing specialty group that treats orofacial pain disorders.
