Job Description Robotics Technician $30 - 3rd shift The Robotics Technician works alongside controls engineers to maintain and troubleshoot FANUC industrial robots and automated welding equipment in a high‑volume manufacturing environment. The primary goal of this role is to keep robotic weld cells running safely, efficiently, and reliably through routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and preventive care. Responsibilities • Support controls engineers by performing hands-on maintenance and troubleshooting on FANUC robots and related automation equipment, • Identify and repair issues in robotic weld cells, including mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and welding-related problems, • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance to reduce downtime and extend equipment life, • Read and use electrical and mechanical schematics to diagnose problems and complete repairs, • Assist with basic robot programming, adjustments, and fine-tuning to improve performance and weld quality, • Work in a weld shop environment to support daily robotic welding operations and ensure equipment is production-ready, • Use strong troubleshooting skills to identify the cause of equipment failures and implement long-term solutions, • Evaluate the condition of parts and components to determine safe operation and consult management when safety or reliability is a concern, • Follow OSHA guidelines and all safety procedures while working on robotics and industrial machinery, • Complete maintenance records, documentation, and work orders accurately and on time, • Work closely with controls engineers, production teams, and vendors to resolve issues and improve system performance, • Build positive working relationships with coworkers at all levels and with outside vendors, • Train on first shift for an initial period, then transition to a 12-hour night shift scheduleRequired Skills & Experience, • 2–3 years of experience in industrial maintenance, robotics, or automation, • Hands-on experience maintaining industrial robots, preferably FANUC, • Experience working in a robotic welding or weld shop environment, • Strong skills in electrical, mechanical, and automation troubleshooting, • Ability to read and understand mechanical and electrical schematics, • Knowledge of preventive maintenance practices for industrial equipment, • Good written and verbal communication skills, • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities, • Ability to assess component wear and determine safe operating limits, • Commitment to safety and compliance with OSHA standards, • Ability to maintain detailed and accurate maintenance documentation, • Ability to work effectively with team members and vendorsPreferred Qualifications, • Technical or community college education in robotics or industrial technology, • Exposure to basic FANUC robot programming and adjustments, • Strong mechanical aptitude, including hydraulics and general maintenance tasks, • Welding experience or familiarity with robotic weld processes Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
