San Miguel School is a tuition-free, independent Catholic middle school serving low-income students and families in Washington, DC. Rooted in the Lasallian tradition, San Miguel provides an extended-day, extended-year educational model focused on academic growth, leadership development, and long-term graduate support. Our students often enter several grade levels behind academically, yet through individualized support and high expectations, 100% of graduates are accepted into Catholic or independent college-preparatory high schools. San Miguel is entering an exciting period of growth as we continue expanding donor partnerships, fundraising initiatives, student support programs, and community engagement efforts throughout the Washington region. Purpose The Investment & Partnership Coordinator is responsible for providing daily operational, administrative, and engagement support for San Miguel School’s fundraising and partnership efforts involving individuals, foundations, corporations, and community organizations. This position has extensive internal coordination responsibilities and significant interaction with donors, trustees, community partners, faculty, staff, and volunteers. The role also provides direct exposure to executive-level fundraising strategy and advancement operations while working closely with the President and leadership team. The position plays a central role in coordinating donor engagement systems, stewardship efforts, fundraising events, communications, and development operations to support the organization's continued growth. Major Responsibilities Donor Engagement & Fundraising Events • Assist in planning and execution of donor-facing events, including the Annual Scholarship Benefit (ASB), donor receptions, cultivation events, student sponsorship gatherings, and Board events, • Coordinate invitations, RSVPs, sponsorship tracking, guest lists, seating, printed materials, and donor follow-up, • Support donor stewardship and engagement efforts before, during, and after fundraising events, • Coordinate visitor hospitality, donor tours, and school engagement opportunities Donor Relations & Development Operations • Receive and route inquiries from donors, community partners, and supporters, • Manage donor acknowledgments, stewardship communications, and gift tracking, • Maintain accurate donor records and campaign information within Salesforce, • Assist with gift processing, reconciliation, reporting, and donor database management, • Coordinate online giving notifications and donor-advised fund communications, • Support investment and partnership office organization, systems management, and operational workflows Communications & Marketing • Assist with the production and distribution of fundraising and donor communications, • Support email campaigns, social media content, event communications, and donor storytelling efforts, • Coordinate development-related materials, including event collateral, presentations, and campaign graphics, • Help strengthen donor engagement and institutional visibility through strategic communications Board, Leadership & Community Coordination • Support the work of the Board of Trustees and the IP Committee, • Assist with scheduling meetings, preparing materials, and coordinating communications, • Serve as a liaison between leadership, donors, trustees, volunteers, vendors, and community partners, • Support partnership initiatives, including fundraising collaborations with schools, businesses, and community organizations Administrative & Operational Support • Maintain development office records, files, and organizational systems, • Assist with report preparation, meeting coordination, and project management, • Support implementation of development office goals, systems, and procedures, • Collaborate closely with leadership and advancement staff to ensure successful operations, • Other duties as assigned to support organizational growth and fundraising success Why This Opportunity Is Unique This position is ideal for someone who wants to build a long-term career in fundraising or nonprofit leadership. Qualifications • 2-5 years of experience in fundraising operations, • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field preferred, • CRM database experience (Salesforce experience a plus), • Proficiency in the Google Office Suite and general digital communication platforms, • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, • Strong attention to detail and follow-through, • Professionalism, initiative, and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, • Ability to represent the organization positively with donors, volunteers, and community partners, • Commitment to the mission and values of San Miguel School, • Ability to be coached, adapt, critically think, and solve problems Reports To: President & Head of School / Investment and Partnership Leadership Compensation & Benefits: Starting salary is $50,000 annually, with compensation commensurate with experience and expertise.
