    Tourism & Destination Marketing Strategist (Contract Role) Location: U.S.-based (Mid-Atlantic preferred) Type: Contract / Project-based Company: The Boulevard Collective About The Boulevard Collective The Boulevard Collective is a national placemaking and brand development agency that helps cities, developers, and community organizations shape places people love. We combine brand strategy, cultural storytelling, public engagement, and public space management to help communities strengthen local identity, attract investment, and foster belonging. About the Role We’re seeking an experienced Tourism & Destination Strategist to join our team of collaborators on upcoming projects across the U.S. The ideal candidate has a strong background in tourism, place branding, and economic development with a passion for helping communities tell their story and grow sustainably. This is a contract-based position that will involve collaborating with our team on citywide tourism strategies, neighborhood identity initiatives, and destination marketing plans. What You’ll Do • Develop tourism and destination marketing strategies for neighborhoods, cultural districts, and cities, • Conduct research and market assessments to identify visitor audiences and positioning opportunities, • Collaborate with brand strategists, designers, and engagement teams to shape messaging and storytelling frameworks, • Support proposal development and contribute to creative strategy for public-sector and developer-led projects, • Participate in stakeholder sessions, workshops, and presentations as needed, • Establish and measure performance metrics for tourism and destination campaigns Qualifications • 7+ years of experience in tourism, destination marketing, or economic development, • Proven track record working with DMOs, CVBs, city agencies, or place-branding consultancies, • Experience crafting or implementing tourism campaigns for diverse communities and economic contexts, • Understanding of the intersection between tourism, local business ecosystems, and cultural identity, • Strong communication and presentation skills; comfortable working collaboratively on project teams, • Based in the U.S. (Mid-Atlantic region preferred) Nice to Have • Experience working on public-sector RFPs or federally funded community projects, • Background in community engagement or creative placemaking Compensation & Terms • Contract-based compensation varies by project scope and deliverables, • Remote work with occasional travel for site visits or workshops (expenses covered), • Flexible project scheduling based on availability
