Job Description Job Title: Phlebotomist III - Floater Location: Springfield, VA 22150 Duration: 02 Month Contract (Possibility of extension or conversion) Shift: Monday – Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm Pay Rate: $19– 21.79/hour (W2) (Based on experience and education) Job Summary The Phlebotomist III – Float serves as a key patient-facing representative responsible for high-quality blood collection and specimen handling across multiple locations. This role requires advanced phlebotomy expertise, strong leadership capabilities, and the flexibility to support Patient Service Centers, mobile units, long-term care facilities, and in-office settings. The position ensures accurate, timely completion of daily activities while maintaining patient trust, safety, and compliance with established procedures. Key Responsibilities • Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collection on pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients, • Prepare, label, and process specimens accurately for laboratory testing, • Ensure proper patient identification and documentation prior to specimen collection, • Maintain specimen integrity through correct handling, storage, and transport, • Provide coverage across multiple locations (PSC, mobile, long-term care, in-office settings), • Act as a lead/resource by supporting, coaching, and mentoring team members, • Assist in onboarding and training of new employees and clients, • Serve as a point of contact for on-site staff and communicate updates to supervisors, • Handle high-volume and complex testing environments with efficiency and accuracy, • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Sales, Lab Services, IT, Billing, Logistics), • Deliver excellent customer service and build trust with patients, • Ensure compliance with HIPAA, OSHA, and company policies, • Maintain a safe, clean, and professional work environment, • Complete all assigned tasks accurately and within required timelines Education Requirements • High school diploma or equivalent (required), • Medical Assistant or Paramedic training (preferred), • Phlebotomy certification (preferred; required in CA, NV, WA) Work Experience • Minimum 5 years of phlebotomy experience required, • Experience with pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections, • Minimum 3 years in PSC (Patient Service Center) or IOP (In-Office Phlebotomy) preferred, • Prior customer service experience preferred, • Experience with data entry and computer systems Skills & Competencies • Advanced phlebotomy skills with high accuracy and first-stick success rate, • Strong leadership, mentoring, and training abilities, • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities, • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities, • Flexibility to travel and adapt to different work environments, • High attention to detail and commitment to quality Additional Requirements • Ability to travel between multiple locations with minimal notice, • Flexible schedule including weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed, • Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license (if applicable), • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment Pride-Health offers eligible employee’s comprehensive healthcare coverage (medical, dental, and vision plans), supplemental coverage (accident insurance, critical illness insurance and hospital indemnity), 401(k)-retirement savings, life & disability insurance, an employee assistance program, legal support, auto, home insurance, pet insurance and employee discounts with preferred vendors.
