Job Description We are now hiring for a DV Advocate Hours to be Reported Staff (8-12 hours per week) for the Midway office. SALARY: • Responsible for monitoring court ordered services for visiting parents to visit their child(ren) in a supervised, safe, and predictable environment., • Monitor the visit between the visiting parent and their children., • Facilitate safe exchange for court ordered parents., • Complete in-person enrollments for services., • Assess parents’ needs and develop service plans., • Provide case management and complete safety plan with parents as needed., • Provide advocacy services., • Provide crisis intervention, safety planning and emotional support services., • Complete and maintain client file documentation., • To comply with agency record-keeping expectations., • Learn and utilize agency and community resources., • Represent the program, and agency in the community., • Meet agency expectation for quantity of direct service and quality assurance purposes., • Assess community conditions affecting parents to identify resource gaps and problems., • Work effectively with diverse staff and service population., • Use expanded knowledge of resources and help clients utilize them., • Work collaboratively with community resources., • Attend any mandatory group supervision and program/agency meetings., • Work within contract, grant and program requirements including meeting timelines and reporting requirements., • Administers any required assessments and outcome tools at their designated intervals., • Knowledge of community resources, advocacy and crisis intervention skills, and an understanding of trauma and Trauma Informed Care is beneficial., • Empathic, non-judgmental, service-oriented attitude in work with clients. Recognizes domestic violence survivors as the experts of their own lives and partners with clients to identify and build upon their strengths., • Ability to respond appropriately in varied situations and to function with minimal supervision., • Ability to work and problem-solve both independently and collaboratively within a team environment, demonstrating professionalism, flexibility, and mature judgment., • Must demonstrate self-awareness, insight, and commitment to ongoing professional growth. Models' healthy boundaries and good self-care with clients and coworkers., • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills and demonstrate understanding and effectiveness in working with diverse populations., • Additional skills may be required specific to the particular program or site where this position is based, • Must be able to accommodate flexibility in work schedule, which may include some variable evenings and/or weekends., • High school diploma or GED equivalent plus 4 years of work experience or associate’s degree plus 2 years of work experience preferably in the field of gender-based violence or a social service-related capacity required., • One (1) year of case management experience in a social service or healthcare setting experience required., • 40 hours Domestic Violence Training certificate required., • Bilingual English/ Spanish required., • Must work evenings 5:00pm - 8:00pm and Saturdays 8:30 am -2:00 pm required., • Professional (CDVP) certification preferred., • Bachelor’s degree in social work, Psychology, Human Services, or a related field preferred., • Driving not required. PHYSICAL DEMANDS • While performing the essential duties of this job, the employee is required to sit and stand for sustained periods of time, frequently talk, hear, use hands and fingers to feel, handle and operate objects or controls, and occasionally stand, bend, stretch, stoop, kneel and crouch., • The employee is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as preparing and analyzing data and figures, transcribing and viewing a computer terminal., • The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds.
