The Position: The Director of Staffing Operations is a strategic leader responsible for overseeing and optimizing and holding accountable to processes the performance of the staffing operations across multiple markets. This role provides high-level leadership and direction to staffing management and their teams, ensuring operational excellence, compliance, service delivery, customer satisfaction, and financial performance. The Director is responsible for aligning staffing strategies with overall business objectives, scaling systems and processes, and fostering a high-performance, values-driven culture. The leader will act as a critical bridge between executive vision and frontline execution. The Duties: Strategic Leadership & Operational Oversight • Lead and mentor the staffing management team across assigned markets to ensure excellence in execution and delivery of staffing solutions., • Drive alignment of regional strategies with overall business goals, including profitability, market expansion, and client retention., • Identify trends, gaps, and opportunities across all markets and implement enterprise-wide solutions that enhance performance and scalability., • Maintain accountability for overall operational KPIs including client satisfaction, fill ratios, retention, gross margin performance, and branch profitability., • Champion continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency, reduce costs, and increase service value. Process Optimization & Cross-Functional Collaboration • Lead the staffing organization in process adherence and continuity of the staffing ATS, performance metrics and workflows to support operational excellence., • Ensure processes are being followed by all and appropriately activated on, • Collaborate closely with internal departments — including People + Culture, Payroll, Compliance Safety and Finance — to ensure seamless operational delivery., • Lead regular business reviews with executive leadership, presenting performance insights, forecasts, and action plans. Client Experience & Business Growth • Ensure high-level engagement with key client accounts through Quarterly Business Reviews, proactive problem-solving, and strategic relationship management., • Partner with Sales, Recruiting, Marketing, and Client Services to support onboarding of new accounts, expansion of existing accounts, and delivery of integrated solutions., • Support the growth of strategic accounts by identifying new opportunities within current client partnerships and collaborating with cross-functional teams., • Support field teams in delivering exceptional service and resolving client concerns with speed and integrity. Financial Management • Own P&L responsibility for staffing operations, ensuring budgets, forecasts, and profitability targets are met or exceeded., • Analyze regional and market-level financials to identify cost-savings, margin improvement opportunities, and operational risks. People Leadership & Talent Development • Foster a high-performance culture focused on accountability, service, and innovation., • Attract, hire, develop, and retain top operational talent, ensuring strong leadership bench strength., • Provide coaching, mentorship, and development plans (including succession planning) for the Regional Manager and other operational leaders., • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local employment and labor regulations., • Aligning with executive leadership on growth targets, client strategy, and performance metrics., • Reviewing financials, turnover, sales activity, and branch performance data., • Building recruiting, retention, and incentive strategies that cascade to all branches., • Regular site visits (e.g., 1–2 branches per week, depending on travel feasibility)., • Spending time with branch leaders and teams—coaching managers on sales, recruiting execution, and customer service delivery., • Shadowing front-line activities (sales calls, candidate interviews, client visits) to spot training opportunities., • Addressing client-specific escalations when needed. The Qualities: • 8+ years of leadership experience in staffing, operations, or workforce solutions industry., • Proven success in managing multi-site or multi-regional teams with full P&L responsibility., • Deep understanding of staffing industry metrics, trends, compliance, and best practices., • Strong financial and business acumen, with experience managing budgets and driving profitability., • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills., • Experience leading through change and scaling systems/processes during periods of growth., • Passion for servant leadership, people development, and delivering exceptional client and associate experiences.
