Job Details – Locum Tenens PA (Trauma) Weekly Estimated Pay: $3,910 – $4,630 (Competitive locum tenens pay) Setting: Level I Trauma Center (Adult & Pediatric Care) – Minneapolis healthcare facility Start Date: May 11, 2026 Duration: 13 weeks (with potential for extension) Shift: 10-hour day shifts (7:00 AM – 5:00 PM) Hours per Week: 40 Employment Type: Locum tenens / Travel PA job Number of Positions: 2 Location: Minneapolis, MN 55422 (Minnesota locum tenens opportunity) Job Requirements – Physician Assistant (PA-C) Minimum 1 year of experience as an APP (Physician Assistant) in an inpatient setting; trauma, ICU, and/or orthopedics experience preferred Board Certified (PA-C) – Acute Care PA credential required (No FNPs) Active Minnesota license at time of submission (or eligibility for Minnesota licensure) Current ACLS, PALS, and ATLS certifications DEA registration (verbal confirmation required) Self-Query NPDB report (pulled within the same month as submission) Ability to work autonomously with trauma surgeon backup available 24/7 EPIC EMR experience preferred (electronic medical record experience a plus) Responsibilities – Trauma Surgery Physician Assistant Daily rounding and management of trauma patients (typical census: 10–14 non-ICU, 6 ICU) Respond to the Emergency Department for trauma alerts and activations as a Trauma PA Facilitate discharges, admissions from the ED, and coordinate multidisciplinary care Perform trauma and surgical procedures: non-invasive vent management (BiPAP/CPAP), ventilator management, chest tube insertion, central line placement, arterial lines, and suturing minor lacerations Accurate tracking, documentation, and charting per hospital and trauma registry guidelines Provide age-diverse care (primarily adult and adolescent) in a Level I Trauma Center environment This locum tenens Physician Assistant – Trauma Surgery role is an excellent travel PA job for experienced acute care PAs and trauma-trained APPs seeking Minnesota locum opportunities.
