Job Description Position: Maintenance Technician/ Plumber / Dock Tech Location: Paris, TX Shift: Mon – Fri 1st Shift Employment: Contract to Hire Pay Rate: Competitive, based on experience Position Description: We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician/ Plumber / Dock Tech to support commercial and industrial facility operations in [Paris, TX]. This role is ideal for a hands-on maintenance professional with strong technical aptitude, excellent follow-through, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. The Maintenance Technician II will perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot equipment issues, complete repairs, and support facility improvement projects. This position also requires experience with light plumbing, dock doors, and commercial dock equipment. Essential Duties & Responsibilities: • Follow all workplace safety protocols, including OSHA, lockout/tagout, and site-specific guidelines., • Conduct routine facility “shift rounds” to inspect equipment, identify issues, and document performance., • Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair a wide range of facility equipment, including:, • HVAC systems, fire/life safety equipment, electrical and plumbing systems, • Transformers, motors, motor starters, MCC panels/circuits, VFDs, wiring and cabling, • Dock equipment such as overhead doors, dock levelers, dock locks, and seals, • Building and exterior lighting, photoelectric sensors, emergency lighting, • Perform preventive maintenance and diagnose malfunctions across mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems., • Complete repairs including rebuilding pumps, valves, and electrical/pneumatic devices; repairing leaks; replacing fixtures; and other general facility maintenance tasks., • Support basic carpentry, painting, and remodeling work as needed., • Manage administrative tasks such as ordering parts, creating purchase orders, coordinating vendors, and attending project meetings., • Document all work in the CMMS and recommend improvements to preventive maintenance plans., • Communicate effectively with internal teams and client personnel, providing clear updates on work progress and expected completion times., • Lead or support maintenance projects as assigned and oversee subcontractor activities when necessary., • Additional duties may be assigned based on operational needs. Required Skills/Education: Education & Experience: • High school diploma or equivalent required; trade school or technical coursework preferred., • Minimum 4 years of experience in facility, commercial, or industrial maintenance., • Experience servicing commercial dock levelers, overhead doors, and automatic doors., • Background in plumbing repairs or light remodeling strongly preferred., • Equivalent combinations of education, training, and experience will be considered. Licenses & Certifications: • Valid driver’s license., • Forklift, scissor lift, and aerial lift (JLG) operator certifications required or the ability to obtain them. Technical Skills: • Proficiency using hand tools and power tools., • Ability to disassemble, repair, and reassemble pumps, HVAC components, fans, and related equipment., • Working knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, and life-safety systems., • Ability to operate Building Automation Systems (BAS), CMMS software, and digital work tools (computer, tablet, email)., • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to evaluate technical issues and offer practical solutions., • Comfortable working in dynamic environments with shifting priorities., • Willingness to support occasional nonstandard or weekend schedules as needed.
