Job Description What You’ll Do As an AV Service Technician, you’ll be part of our field service team, responsible for keeping our customers’ AV systems running smoothly. Your day-to-day will include: • Responding to service calls at customer sites (Oʻahu and occasionally neighbor islands), • Troubleshooting and repairing AV systems, including:, • Projectors, flat panels, and LED displays, • Audio systems (amps, DSPs, microphones, speakers), • Video conferencing and Zoom/Teams/UC solutions, • Control systems (touchpanels, processors, basic programming adjustments), • Performing system checks, preventative maintenance, and documentation of findings, • Replacing defective components, updating firmware, and making minor configuration changes, • Working with our Service Manager and Programming/Commissioning team to resolve complex issues, • Providing professional, friendly customer service and clear communication on-site, • Completing service reports, time entries, and parts usage accurately and on time What We’re Looking For Required: • Some hands-on AV experience (field service, installation, live events, IT/low voltage with AV crossover, etc.), • Basic understanding of:, • Signal flow (how audio and video move through a system), • Common AV connections (HDMI, USB-C, XLR, 1/4”, network, etc.), • Comfort using basic test equipment (multimeter, cable testers, network testers), • Ability to read and understand basic line diagrams and rack elevations, • Strong troubleshooting mindset and willingness to ask questions and learn, • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to customer sites, • Experience with any of the following:, • Q-SYS, Biamp, Extron, Crestron, or similar AV platforms, • Zoom Rooms, Microsoft Teams Rooms, or other conferencing platforms, • AVIXA CTS or other AV-related certifications, or interest in pursuing them, • Basic networking knowledge (IP addressing, VLANs, PoE) Who You Are • You take pride in doing the job right the first time, but you’re not afraid to ask for help., • You’re curious about how systems work and want to keep learning new technology., • You’re reliable, organized, and comfortable working in the field independently., • You communicate clearly with customers and teammates, both in person and in writing.
