This position will work with the operational Technology & IT teams. The Business Analyst position will also provide recommendations to business stakeholders and project teams to facilitate gathering and analyzing information using standard tools and approaches to clarify business operations, functions, gap analysis, document/map the current and future states, identify solution alternatives, evaluate the alternatives, and define processes POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES • Facilitate large teams in problem solving and identifying improvement opportunities using industry methodologies (i.e., Kanban, GE Workout or like tools/models)., • Perform organizational maturity analysis, assess gaps, and draft maturity roadmaps based on corporate management goals and objectives., • Provide analysis and support in the development / draft and recommendation of tools for organizational alignment, strategic content, alignment of capabilities and work, and a roadmap for success., • Conduct background research and interview end-users, stakeholders, and other interested internal parties (customers) to gather and understand customer / end-user requirements,, • Collaborate with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to perform root cause analysis and lessons learned as part of identifying opportunities to apply business or process improvement strategies., • Support the structure for, facilitate the planning of, and assist with the development, draft, recommendation, and implementation of corporate management approved initiatives supporting business and process analysis and continuous improvement efforts., • Plan, facilitate, and conduct working sessions to analyze and document/map current state processes and value streams, and future state processes and value streams., • Facilitate decision making to verify that key requirements of the future state are vetted and agreed to across the Informational Technology/Operational Technology /Transmission Value Chain, • Evaluate and assess business process change impacts and recommend appropriate change mitigation activities., • Perform all analytical tasks related to a project, including requirements definition, validation, management, and supporting documentation (i.e., process flows, user stories, use cases) and related testing, • Perform appropriate testing of management-approved solutions, • Facilitate the definition and documentation of business and functional requirements. Conduct user/stakeholder interviews and facilitate joint requirements sessions., • Draft requirements documentation. Maintain the requirements documentation created and map it to specific delivery releases and schedules., • Prepare use cases, process models, and activity diagrams to support a project and coordinate efforts with business process activities when needed., • Collaborate with staff and user representatives to verify that all user requirements are accommodated. Participate in user/stakeholder review of program/project artifacts and obtain approval and signoff., • Trace acceptance criteria to business and functional requirements and support the development of test plans., • Collect and document detailed descriptions and specifications of user needs, business rules, functionality, and steps required to develop or modify business solutions., • Promote and maintain effective client and stakeholder relationships., • Translate business requirements into definitions and solutions., • Design/draft templates and tools to support the project management methodology, including creating, recommending, and utilizing tools to assist Project Managers (PMs) in tracking and reporting project progress / status, as well as metrics reporting., • Draft and recommend key project deliverable documents including requirements, process diagrams, workflow maps, project plans, and change management plans., • Develop/draft approximate documentation to validate repeatability of processes, to facilitate training of new analytical tools, and to support business continuity, and knowledge transfer., • Track, monitor, and facilitate resolution of issues and risks identified within the projects, as well as compliance related dependencies. Maintain issue, risk, and/or action logs., • Communicate regularly with executive sponsors, key stakeholders, strategic partners, and corporate managers independently and in team meetings., • Design and develop style guidelines and standards for texts and illustrations to meet business needs., • Document, edit, review, organize, publish, and present information consisting of requirements, design, business processes, policy, user manuals, reference manuals, and user-based scenarios (a workflow that describes all the steps, actions, and attributes taken to accomplish a specific task)., • Create, maintain and update installation instructions, training material and other technical documents., • Create use- cases, process models and activity diagrams to support a project, coordinate efforts with business process activities when needed., • Draft documents including requirements, process diagrams, workflow maps, project plans, program management, service management documents, asset management documents, and Enterprise Architecture documents., • Review published materials and recommend revisions or changes in scope, format, content, and/or methods of reproduction., • Plan, facilitate and conduct working sessions to analyze and document/map current state processes and value streams, and future state processes and value streams., • Study drawings, specifications, mockups, and product samples to integrate and delineate technology, operating procedures and production sequence and detail., • Elicit requirements to understand complex business systems and interdependencies with the upstream and downstream systems and put these concepts into a form readable and understandable by individuals with varying backgrounds and technical/skill levels., • Maintain Service Catalog and documentation library for Policy, process, and procedures., • Collect and develop detailed descriptions and specifications of user needs, business rules, functionality and steps required to develop or modify processes and procedures., • Communicate complex technical information with a wide variety of technical and business experts in both individual and in-group settings., • Confer with customers and Subject Matter Experts (SME) to establish technical specifications and recommend materials to be developed., • Perform analytical tasks related to current and future operational and business capabilities including requirements definition, validation, maintenance and supporting documentation (i.e. process flows, user stories, use cases) and related testing REQUIREMENTS Education & Experience: • A degree in Business Administration, Business Management, Accounting, Computer Science (or a closely related field) is preferred., • 8 years of experience is required with an applicable bachelor’s degree., • 10 years of experience is required with an applicable associate degree., • 12 years of experience is required without a degree or applicable degree., • Experience should include direct work experience as a business analyst, business system analyst, strategic business partner or equivalent. Business analysis experience should be progressively more technical in nature Required Skills & Experience • 5 years of experience applying methodology to process improvement and optimization efforts across multiple business units within a defined enterprise., • Experience with large-scale organizational change efforts., • Technical interview skills sufficient to facilitate group process design/requirements gathering sessions in a business environment, • Visio flowcharts sufficient to: create complex flow charts and process maps that represent current and future state processes. The use of Visio should be based on industry best practices and use swim lanes or SIPOC (Supplier Input Process Output Customer) methodologies., • Intermediate proficiency in Excel and SharePoint Preferred Skills & Experience • Demonstrated experience with project and change management approaches, tools, and phases., • Experience with the Prosci methodology for Change Management., • Experience working in a Project Management Office APR Staffing is an equal opportunity employer.
