Position Summary The General Manager will be responsible for overseeing all day-to-day company operations, ensuring efficiency, financial stability, and regulatory compliance. This role serves as a key business partner to the Owner/CEO, with responsibility for driving strategic initiatives and implementing continuous improvement processes. The General Manager will provide strategic leadership across core business functions, establish and monitor goals, track key performance indicators (KPIs), and foster a culture of accountability and effective cross-departmental collaboration. For the successful candidate, this role offers a clear career growth path with the opportunity to advance to the position of Executive Director. Key Responsibilities Operational Excellence Ensure consistent performance across operations, fleet, and warehouse. Control on-time deliveries, minimize delays, and maximize fleet utilization. Oversee driver retention and operational efficiency. Financial Management Budgeting, cost control, financial performance analysis. Drive revenue growth and cost-per-mile efficiency. Negotiate with clients and partners on key contracts and rate structures. Strategy & Growth Partner with the Owner/CEO to design and implement growth strategies. Analyze markets and competitors to identify new business opportunities. Lead efficiency and process improvement projects. Safety & Compliance Ensure compliance with FMCSA, DOT, OSHA, and labor law regulations. Oversee driver safety programs and fleet compliance. Promote a strong corporate culture of safety and quality. People & Leadership Lead and develop department managers across core business functions. Conduct performance reviews, mentor, and motivate employees. Build a culture of accountability, professionalism, and collaboration. Customer & Partner Relations Maintain high standards of customer service and satisfaction. Build and strengthen relationships with clients, brokers, and partners. Resolve client issues and complaints promptly and effectively. Requirements Minimum of 6 years of management experience (preferably in trucking, logistics, or transportation). Proven track record of leading large and diverse teams. Knowledge of federal and state regulations (FMCSA, DOT, OSHA) is a plus. Strong experience managing budgets, P&L, and KPIs. Excellent leadership, strategic thinking, and communication skills. Masters degree in Business, Management, or a related field preferred. Bilingual skills (English/Russian or English/Ukrainian) are a plus but not required. Excellent project management and organizational skills, with a bias toward process improvement. Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills; able to engage with stakeholders at all levels.
