Visit our website: Position Overview / Summary Metalex is seeking an enthusiastic and highly motivated Senior CNC Programmer that will be responsible for generating CNC programs using Siemens NX CAM software for machining applications including 5-axis milling, turning, EDM, etc. As a key technical leader within our manufacturing team, this individual must have a passion for creating and optimizing CNC machining programs that result in exceptional quality and the best total value for our Customers across a diverse group of industries including Space, Energy, Defense, Aerospace, Marine and Consumer Products. Metalex is a dynamic and fast-paced environment where you will be expected to learn new things each day, while also engaging and partnering with our talented team of; manufacturing engineers, tooling engineers, machinists, Quality Inspectors and Estimators to develop innovative solutions for unique engineering challenges, on mission-critical components that travel from the deepest depths of the ocean to products that fly high above the earth’s atmosphere into space and everywhere in between. Primary Responsibilities: Using established systems and tools, the primary role of the Senior CNC Programmer is to create, develop and optimize CNC programs and technical manufacturing processes to achieve exceptional quality, efficiency and throughput at the best possible cost for the precision manufacturing of complex components. · Generate and maintain CNC programs utilizing Siemens NX (12) CAM Software for precision machining applications including; 5-axis Milling, Turning, EDM and Grinding. · Responsible for the final game plan in manufacturing a part on a particular work center, including planning, layout and design of fixturing and work holding concepts for machining. · Identify and select the best strategy and tooling for the most efficient machining method for each operation, taking into consideration part geometry, material, tooling life / cost, quality requirements, etc. · Creating detailed documentation to support the manufacturing operation such as; setup sheets, in-process stock drawings, fixture design, detailed tooling lists, etc, to ensure the successful completion of the machining operation. · Utilize Metalex existing systems and tools available, such as Vericut and Zoller TMS to verify and ensure all programs and supporting documentation generated are error free before being released to the shop. · Provide daily operator support to the shop floor as required for CNC Programs including; start up meeting for critical operations, trouble shooting and process optimization of CNC programs. · Support Quotation by providing estimated times for programming and machining operations to ensure Metalex quotes to customers are highly accurate and competitive. Requirements and Qualifications: · Four-year engineering degree (ME preferred) or equivalent experience · Minimum 5 years hands-on CAD / CAM Programming experience working in Job Shop or Aerospace · Experience with Siemens NX (12) CAD / CAM Software · NX Journaling / VB, C++, or Java (a plus) · Highly knowledgeable about machining applications for; 5-axis milling, turning, mill-turn, EDM, etc · Hands-On Experience running CNC machines cutting stainless, Inco, titanium components ( a plus) · Strong at reading customer prints / specifications with hands-on application of GD&T principles · Ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently with limited supervision and a positive, can-do attitude · Organized and detail oriented, with proven logical thinking and problem solving skills · Able to work independently, with very good verbal and written communication skills. · Strong work ethic combined with excellent Project management, team building, and leadership skills · Intermediate to Advanced Computer Skills, proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office suite tools · Job Responsibilities Require U.S. Citizenship and a Drug Free work place Compensation and Benefits · Competitive Wages · PTO (Paid Time Off) · Family Health Insurance · Prescription Drug Plan · Family Dental Plan · 401K Plan w/ Match · Education/Tuition Reimbursement · Employee Life Insurance · Short & Long Term Disability · Flexible Spending Account · Voluntary Short & Long Term Disability · Exercise Facility for employees and family · Montana cabin available for vacations Company DescriptionMetalex is a family owned company located in the greater Cincinnati, Ohio area.
