Job Description Lawndale Christian Development Corporation Job Description Position: Project Manager Reports to: Project Director, Reclaiming North Lawndale Our Mission Lawndale Christian Development Corporation (LCDC) was established in 1987 by the Lawndale Christian Community Church to fulfill the call to do justice in Micah 6:8. LCDC organizes with the community for the power to eliminate health and wealth disparities in North Lawndale. We develop and manage affordable mixed-use housing, create homeownership for working families, and build cooperative businesses that anchor neighborhood stability and economic equity. Job Overview The Project Manager plays a central role in LCDC’s development operations, overseeing critical phases of residential and mixed-use construction projects, managing contractors, and ensuring adherence to project budgets, schedules, and compliance standards. The position also supports LCDC’s strategic initiative to reclaim and redevelop vacant properties in North Lawndale. Primary Responsibilities • Vacant Property and Data Mapping, • Research ownership and document findings in the property management database., • Construction Oversight, • Follow day-to-day construction of single-family homes, gaining hands-on experience with the full construction process., • Monitor contractor performance and ensure compliance with drawings, specifications, and budgets., • Obtain a working understanding of the construction development process from predevelopment to closeout., • Development Process Management, • Assist in preparing and managing sworn statements, budgets, and financial sources/uses., • Coordinate State Capital Grant requests, including Greystone quarterly reports., • Identify BEP-certified contractors to bid on Greystone and other projects., • Handle environmental due diligence, demolition, and remediation coordination., • Model Christian leadership and a biblical approach to conflict resolution., • Participate in community organizing activities and public events., • Engage in professional development opportunities as available. The Project Manager demonstrates disciplined accountability and a meticulous attention to detail, ensuring that every project phase meets measurable, high-quality, and cost-effective standards. They think creatively and adaptively, bringing innovative approaches to construction and development challenges while maintaining integrity, transparency, and professional composure under changing conditions. Skilled in organization and information management, they establish and uphold clear project controls, monitor trends that may affect outcomes, and ensure all documentation, reports, and financial data are accurate and compliant. Their oral and written communication skills enable them to present complex information with clarity, lead meetings effectively, and produce concise professional documentation. Equally strong in relational and strategic competencies, the Project Manager builds and sustains productive partnerships with contractors, funders, and community stakeholders, embodying teamwork and trust. They plan and evaluate with precision—setting measurable goals, coordinating schedules and budgets, and using data-driven cost-benefit analyses to guide decision-making. Operating with deep organizational awareness of LCDC’s mission and systems, they apply sound financial and project-management principles to oversee timelines, resources, and quality control measures. Their leadership reflects an ethical commitment to excellence, innovation, and collaboration—aligning every project milestone with LCDC’s broader goals of equity, accountability, and community transformation. Qualifications Required Bachelor’s degree (preferably in real estate, business, or finance). Minimum 3 years of experience in development or project management. Excellent MS Office skills (including Excel). Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel locally. Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills. Ability to work flexible hours, including some evenings and weekends. Preferred Experience designing or managing project management processes and systems. Compensation and Benefits • Full-time position (Monday–Friday, 9 am–5 pm), • $70,000 annually.
