Buyer Salary Range: $62,000 – $80,000 Our client is a U.S.-based manufacturer serving highly regulated, mission-critical markets and is seeking a Buyer to support its operations in Endicott, NY. This role is responsible for acquiring materials and services that meet operational objectives related to quality, cost, delivery, and supplier performance. The Buyer will work cross-functionally with planning, engineering, quality, and marketing teams while managing supplier relationships on a global scale. This is a hands-on purchasing role within a fast-paced manufacturing environment, offering exposure to strategic sourcing, supplier development, and continuous improvement initiatives. Key Responsibilities • Develop and execute sourcing strategies to improve cost, delivery, and quality, • Analyze supplier proposals and select optimal sources of supply, • Collaborate with sourcing engineers to develop and qualify global suppliers, • Review and manage Material Requirements Planning (MRP) to support production needs, • Implement and manage consignment, kanban, and purchase agreements, • Negotiate pricing and cost-reduction initiatives to meet operational targets, • Monitor supplier performance and implement corrective actions as needed, • Partner cross-functionally with planning, quality, marketing, and engineering teams, • Conduct make-vs-buy analyses to ensure competitive and compliant outsourcing decisions, • Support small business and supplier diversity objectives, • Ensure compliance with all purchasing policies and procedures Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, or a related field, or equivalent experience, • Working knowledge of MRP systems (AS400 preferred), • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, • Strong written and verbal communication skills, • High level of professionalism and confidentiality, • Ability to work effectively in a team-based, fast-paced environment Additional Requirements • Willingness to travel approximately 5–10%, including domestic and international supplier visits, • Must be authorized to work in the United States (no sponsorship available), • Role may require eligibility to access controlled technologies subject to U.S. export regulations Why This Opportunity This is an opportunity to join a stable, growth-oriented manufacturing organization that values operational excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
