Job DescriptionWe are looking for an experienced Accountant II to join our team in Allentown, Pennsylvania. This long-term contract position offers the opportunity to work in a hybrid environment, combining in-office collaboration with remote work flexibility. The ideal candidate will play a key role in supporting business planning, decision-making, and regulatory processes while driving process improvements and providing leadership to less experienced team members. Responsibilities: • Build strong partnerships with management teams to support planning, decision-making, and business objectives., • Prepare and review complex reporting materials, including presentations, data updates, and month-end manual accruals., • Assist with regulatory filings, such as rate cases and other jurisdictional requirements., • Develop and oversee operational budgets, ensuring alignment with business goals and financial targets., • Conduct detailed analyses of financial results, identifying variances and providing explanations to relevant departments., • Regularly engage with business partners to strengthen relationships and implement process improvements., • Monitor capital projects and adjust forecasts to align with construction plans and corporate targets., • Lead efforts to quantify and implement process enhancements to improve efficiency., • Supervise less experienced team members, providing guidance and support in financial analysis and reporting., • Perform day-to-day accounting and budgeting tasks, including journal entries, expense coding, and project setup.• Proven experience in regulatory accounting, with a solid understanding of rate cases and filings., • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data and propose actionable solutions., • Proficiency in financial planning, budgeting, and variance analysis., • Familiarity with Apptio or comparable financial management tools is an advantage., • Excellent communication and presentation skills, capable of engaging with leadership teams., • Demonstrated ability to lead process improvements and drive operational efficiency., • Expertise in accounting functions, including journal entries, expense reporting, and project management., • Advanced knowledge of computer systems and financial software applications.
