We’re looking for a Head of DevOps, Security & IT (hands on, startup scale) to take ownership of all things platform, security, and internal IT. This role is ideal for someone who’s scaled modern cloud infrastructure (AWS, Kubernetes, CI/CD, Terraform), built security maturity (SOC 2, HIPAA, incident response), and run lean, effective IT operations for a remote and hybrid workforce – not from the sidelines, but from the center of the action. You’ll oversee three core areas:DevOps / Infrastructure & Developer Experience: Our cloud infra and internal platform and developer productivity team Information Security: Security and compliance operations for our cloud-native, healthcare-regulated environment IT: Internal tools, support, and identity systems that power our hybrid, tech-forward company This is a highly cross-functional engineering leadership role that will partner with Legal, Product, Business Operations and the rest of Engineering to evolve the foundational systems that make our teams fast, secure, and effective. How You’ll Contribute:Infrastructure & Developer Productivity • Lead the team responsible for CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure-as-code, build/test/deploy tooling, and our internal developer platform., • Drive initiatives that improve engineering velocity, reliability, and observability., • Own security architecture and execution across cloud infrastructure, identity, and application layers., • As our Information Security Officer, partner with Legal and People on compliance efforts, security audits (SOC 2, HIPAA, HITRUST) and risk assessments., • Oversee a high-leverage IT team responsible for device management, SaaS access, identity systems and helpdesk support., • Build policies and tooling strategy to support secure, frictionless workflows for a hybrid workforce., • Hire, mentor, and develop a high-performing team across DevSecOps, compliance infrastructure, security, and IT., • Define and track KPIs across platform reliability, incident response, internal SLAs, and productivity tooling., • 10+ years of experience across infrastructure and security, with 5+ years in a management role., • Demonstrated success leading DevOps, platform engineering, or developer productivity teams working with cloud-native environments (e.g., AWS, GCP, Kubernetes)., • Hands-on experience with security engineering, cloud security posture, and incident response., • Experience supporting compliance frameworks to deliver on SOC 2, HIPAA, and HITRUST., • Strong working knowledge of CI/CD, observability, identity and access management, and secure software development practices., • Passion and outstanding ability to communicate complex ideas clearly, concisely, and persuasively across an organization., • Experience improving IT tooling across an organization, • Proven ability to manage, develop and grow talent. In partnership with OpenAI, we are redefining the legal AI space and delivering innovative solutions for the future of legal work The role This role supports day-to-day IT operations for LegalOn’s North America team and helps ensure a reliable, secure experience for our employees. You’ll handle user and device requests, follow documented procedures, and assist with standard system administration across our core platforms. You will: • Resolve tickets for account access, device setup, and common app issues, • Apply standard changes and escalate complex issues to senior team members, • Keep configurations and documentation up to date as we evolve our environment, • Learn our environment and ticketing workflows, • Consistently meet response and resolution targets for common requests, • Help standardize NA device baselines across Intune and Jamf Pro, • Work closely with US-based employees and our Japan IT team, • Partner with Security on access, compliance evidence, and incident procedures, • Build depth in Entra ID, Intune, and Jamf Pro administration, • Assist with identity and device administration to keep users productive and devices compliant., • Support core systems, including:, • Identity management: Microsoft Entra ID, • Device management: Microsoft Intune and Jamf Pro, • Collaboration and productivity tools, such as Google Workspace or Microsoft 365, Slack, Notion, and Jira, • Handle the NA helpdesk queue for common issues and escalate as needed., • Follow documented procedures for changes, incidents, and access requests., • Keep documentation and runbooks up to date as processes evolve., • Help evaluate SaaS tools and work with vendors under guidance., • 1 to 3 years in corporate IT or systems support, • Hands-on experience administering Microsoft Entra ID, • Hands-on experience with both Microsoft Intune and Jamf Pro, • Admin familiarity with Google Workspace and Microsoft 365, • Experience with a ticketing system and basic IT service management practices, • Basic networking and security fundamentals, • Exposure to device compliance or Zero Trust concepts, • Experience assisting with SOC 2 or ISO 27001 evidence collection, • Experience with generative tools (e.g., ChatGPT Enterprise, Gemini, Notion AI), • Scripting basics (e.g., PowerShell, Bash, or Python) and experience with low/no-code tools (e.g., n8n, Zapier)Location and work model, • Hybrid in the Bay Area or fully remote within the United States or Canada., • Core support hours: 9am to 6pm local time, with occasional overlap with JST as needed.Miscellaneous, • Work authorization: Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States or Canada., • Robust benefits: comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance, generous PTO, plus a 401K plan
