Job DescriptionBusser – JINYA Ramen BarJob Summary Front of House Team Members are an essential part of the JINYA Ramen Bar guest experience. As a Busser, you support the General Manager, Front of House leadership, and service team by maintaining a clean, organized, and welcoming dining environment while delivering exceptional hospitality. Bussers serve as Customer Service Ambassadors by assisting servers, supporting guest needs, and ensuring tables, stations, and service areas are reset quickly and efficiently. This role plays a key part in creating a seamless, 5-star dining experience in a fast-paced restaurant environment. Primary Responsibilities • Support servers and front-of-house team members with guest service needs in a professional and positive manner, • Clear, clean, and reset tables quickly and accurately to maintain smooth service flow, • Deliver food and beverages to guests and assist with refilling water and other beverages as needed, • Maintain table cleanliness and ensure all guest-facing areas remain clean, organized, and presentable, • Polish and organize plateware, silverware, and glassware for service readiness, • Assist with opening and closing side work and ensure all assigned duties are completed properly, • Maintain cleanliness of workstations, dining areas, and restrooms, including areas visible to guests upon entry, • Communicate clearly and professionally with guests and team members, including both front-of-house and back-of-house staff, • Demonstrate menu knowledge, including daily desserts, sauces, dressings, and sides, and explain items to guests when delivering food, • Understand restaurant operations including hours, table numbers, payment options, reservation flow, and allergy-related service awareness, • Greet guests as they arrive and assist with seating, reservations, and waitlist communication when needed and as directed by management, • Support front-of-house operations by refilling beverages, maintaining table arrangements, and assisting with service tasks as requested, • Utilize JINYA’s steps of service, hospitality standards, and upselling techniques to enhance the guest experience, • Respond to minor guest concerns professionally and notify management promptly of major guest or service issues, • Participate in JINYA’s cultural greetings including “Irasshai” and “Arigato”, • Promote and execute JINYA’s core values of Teamwork, Hospitality, Authenticity, Creativity, and Integrity, • Prior restaurant experience in a support role preferred, ideally in a high-volume environment, • Strong verbal communication skills and professional guest service presence, • Ability to multitask and remain organized in a fast-paced, high-pressure setting, • Positive attitude and ability to work well under pressure, • Ability to read and follow simple written instructions, correspondence, and operational procedures, • Willingness to follow direction and ask questions when clarification is needed, • Dependable, reliable, and self-motivated with strong attention to cleanliness and presentation, • Ability to work independently throughout shifts while supporting overall team operations, • Experience working in a multicultural team environment, • Flexible availability including weekends and holidays, • Ability to stand for extended periods and maneuver safely in tight restaurant spaces, • High school diploma preferred, • Ability to read, write, and speak English Team members must communicate consistently with guests, managers, and staff while maintaining awareness of safety conditions and service flow. Bussers may occasionally use ladders or step tools to access overhead storage when needed. Physical Demands • Stand and walk for extended periods throughout shifts, • Use hands and arms frequently to carry, lift, reset, and organize restaurant items, • Lift and move up to 50 pounds, • Work in indoor and outdoor service areas, including hot, humid, or wet conditions, • Bend, reach, and navigate busy restaurant spaces safely
