Job Description SALES ACCOUNT MANAGER (Wholesale Grocery Distribution) JACKSON, MS Position Summary: The Key Account Manager is responsible for proactively selling product-building programs and concepts to key account personnel while driving profitable growth across assigned territories. This role works collaboratively with the Director of Sales, Regional Sales Managers, and District Sales Managers to develop and execute strategic sales plans that align with company objectives. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong leadership, excellent organizational and communication skills, and the ability to build and sustain long-term business relationships with customers, partners, and internal teams. Key Responsibilities: Sales & Business Development: • Sell and promote the full marketing mix., • Identify, evaluate, and act upon business-building opportunities to maximize account performance and profitability., • Develop, manage, and maintain effective working relationships with assigned accounts., • Apply trade marketing strategies to effectively execute market plans across key accounts and independent customers., • Maintain an in-depth understanding of competitive contracts, brands, and market trends. Administration & Communication: • Conduct daily reviews of the company site for updates and opportunities., • Maintain consistent communication with the field team through email and phone., • Accurately complete and submit expense reports and administrative documentation in a timely manner. Teamwork & Leadership: • Foster collaboration and positive working relationships both internally and externally., • Contribute to team growth by sharing knowledge, best practices, and feedback., • Exhibit strong leadership, accountability, and a commitment to continuous improvement. Qualifications/Requirements/Skills: • Strong understanding of customer business models, consumer preferences, and trade marketing strategies., • Experience managing key accounts and developing long-term customer partnerships., • Knowledge of market dynamics, competitive positioning, and promotional programs., • Effective selling to consumers, customers, peers, and management., • Strong oral and written communication skills., • Proficient in conflict management, decision-making, and problem-solving., • Active listening and comprehension abilities., • Demonstrated effectiveness in planning, time management, and organization., • Consistent follow-through and reliability., • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)., • Skilled in using laptops, digital forms, and related applications., • High motivation and enthusiasm., • Openness to change and innovation., • Collaborative team player with a positive attitude.
