KP Aviation, an international supplier and procurer of aftermarket aviation components and assets, is searching for the next key member of our team! The Senior Technical Records Engineer is a senior-level technical role responsible for leading the evaluation, audit, and technical acceptance of aircraft, engines, and material assets considered for acquisition, lease transitions, teardown, or remarketing. This position performs advanced technical analysis of complex aviation records, ensures airworthiness and regulatory compliance, and supports strategic asset decisions through in-depth technical due diligence. This role serves as a subject matter expert in aircraft and engine records, providing leadership in back-to-birth traceability, leasing return requirements, records audits, and technical investigations while supporting aircraft and engine transitions globally. The Senior Technical Records Engineer also partners cross-functionally with Technical, Trading, Product Line, Sales, Acquisitions, Quality, and external customers to mitigate risk, maximize asset value, and improve technical records processes and standards. Your role will take you to new heights, as you will be tasked with these essential job responsibilities: • Lead detailed audits and technical reviews of commercial aircraft, engine, APU, and landing gear records to support acquisitions, asset management, and regulatory compliance, • Perform complex pre-purchase technical evaluations and due diligence reviews for aircraft and engine transactions, • Evaluate and interpret airworthiness documentation, including ADs, SBs, MODs, STCs, and life-limited parts traceability requirements, • Conduct advanced back-to-birth (BtB) trace analysis for LLPs, engines, and landing gear in accordance with industry standards, • Review OCCM, hard time components, PMTS records, overhaul records, and historical shop visit documentation, • Analyze and interpret structural records, including Dent and Buckle charts, repairs, damage history, and DFP documentation, • Review BSI reports, videos, borescope findings, and technical condition reports to support asset evaluations, • Ensure continued airworthiness and technical compliance of leased engine fleets, including lease return audits and annual lease portfolio reviews, • Perform GVIs and QEC/LRU readouts during asset transactions as required, • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance records audit processes, quality standards, and turnaround times, • Develop, improve, and standardize procedures related to technical records evaluation and documentation controls, • Maintain, organize, and oversee digital records repositories and project documentation within designated systems and server structures, • Download, review, maintain, and organize customer-provided records packages to ensure completeness and accessibility, • Support internal audits and compliance initiatives related to quality, regulatory, and customer requirements, • Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned by management, • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance records audit processes, quality standards, and turnaround times, • Develop, improve, and standardize procedures related to technical records evaluation and documentation controls, • Maintain, organize, and oversee digital records repositories and project documentation within designated systems and server structures, • Download, review, maintain, and organize customer-provided records packages to ensure completeness and accessibility, • Support internal audits and compliance initiatives related to quality, regulatory, and customer requirements, • Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned by management To succeed in this role, you will need to have: • Advanced knowledge of aircraft, engine, APU, and landing gear records auditing principles, • Strong understanding of airworthiness regulations, lease return requirements, and aviation industry technical documentation, • Advanced knowledge of LLP traceability, back-to-birth audits, shop visit records, and asset transition documentation, • Strong technical understanding of commercial aircraft systems, engines, and aviation maintenance records, • Ability to assess technical risk and make sound recommendations related to acquisitions and asset transactions, • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to resolve complex records discrepancies, • Ability to interpret and evaluate technical data, maintenance documentation, and engineering records, • Strong project management and organizational skills with ability to manage multiple priorities, • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including strong technical writing abilities, • Strong computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office and digital records management systems, • Ability to lead process improvements and support development of standards and best practices, • Ability to work collaboratively across departments and with external stakeholders in a fast-paced environment, • Ability to exercise sound judgment, professionalism, and discretion in handling sensitive technical matters, • Ability to travel domestically and internationally to customer or project locations, including extended durations when required, • Ability to work independently, lead initiatives, and mentor others while contributing to a team-driven environment We significantly value our employees and believe in compensating each with a substantial benefits and compensation package including: • Generous Medical, Dental, Vision, Life and Short-Term Disability coverage (Employer pays 100% of employee premiums), • 401(k) Plan with Employer Contribution, • Profit Sharing and Bonus opportunities, • Voluntary ancillary plans including Life Insurance, Accident and Hospital coverage, • Paid Time Off and Paid Holidays Export Control: This position must meet export control compliance requirements.
