Job DescriptionDescription: Position Summary The Plant Manager is responsible for overseeing all daily operations of United Food Group’s manufacturing facility to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality production. This role provides leadership to all plant departments, drives operational excellence, manages staffing and performance, ensures compliance with all regulatory requirements, and supports business goals through continuous improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate is a hands-on, collaborative leader with strong decision-making skills, a deep understanding of food manufacturing operations, and the ability to build high-performing teams. Key Responsibilities Leadership & Operations Management • Provide daily leadership and oversight across Production, QA, Blending, Maintenance, Sanitation, Shipping/Receiving, and Warehouse teams., • Ensure production plans, staffing levels, and workflow meet operational goals and customer demands., • Monitor KPIs and drive improvements in productivity, throughput, waste reduction, yields, and cost control., • Ensure a safe work environment by enforcing OSHA standards, company safety policies, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs)., • Partner with Safety Manager to investigate incidents, implement corrective actions, and foster a strong safety culture., • Oversee implementation of food safety programs in partnership with QA (HACCP, SQF, regulatory documentation, audits, etc.)., • Lead, coach, and develop plant leadership team including Production Supervisors, QA, Maintenance, and Logistics., • Hold teams accountable to performance expectations, company policies, and attendance standards., • Support HR with hiring, staffing plans, performance reviews, discipline, and corrective actions., • Collaborate with leadership on capacity planning, scheduling, labor forecasting, and operational strategy., • Identify and implement process improvements to optimize efficiency and reduce downtime., • Work closely with HR, Finance, Purchasing, Sales, and Executive Leadership to ensure alignment and smooth operation of company goals., • Serve as the primary point of contact for plant-related issues, escalations, and customer/third-party audits.Requirements: Required Qualifications • 5+ years of leadership experience in manufacturing, preferably in food production or a regulated environment., • Strong knowledge of GMPs, HACCP, food safety, OSHA regulations, and general manufacturing best practices., • Proven ability to lead teams, manage multiple priorities, and make data-driven decisions., • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills., • Ability to work onsite full-time and maintain a strong presence on the plant floor. Preferred Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree in Operations Management, Business, Food Science, Engineering, or related field., • Experience with SQF certification, regulatory audits, or ERP systems., • Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus. Working Conditions • Fast-paced food manufacturing environment., • Must be able to move throughout the production floor, including cold or warm temperature areas., • May require flexible hours or weekend support based on operational needs.
