Job DescriptionJob Title: Warehouse Worker Job Description The warehouse worker receives, stores, and issues materials, equipment, and other items within a stockroom, warehouse, or storage yard. This role plays a key part in maintaining accurate inventory, organizing stock, and supporting safe and efficient warehouse operations that directly impact the timely shipment of life-saving prescriptions. Responsibilities • Receive incoming stock items, verify quantities, and record data accurately using manual logs or computer systems., • Count and verify stock items and compare inventory records to physical counts, investigating discrepancies and adjusting errors as needed., • Pack and unpack items to be stocked on shelves, in stockrooms, warehouses, or storage yards., • Store items in an orderly, clearly labeled, and accessible manner in warehouses, tool rooms, supply rooms, or other designated areas., • Mark stock items using identification tags, stamps, electric marking tools, RF scanners, or other labeling equipment., • Use RF scanners and related equipment to pick, pack, and track inventory and orders with a high level of accuracy., • Perform inventory activities including order picking, material handling, and documenting stock usage and movement., • Clean and maintain supplies, tools, equipment, and storage areas to ensure a safe, organized, and compliant work environment., • Keep detailed records on the use, condition, and any damage of stock or stock handling equipment., • Examine and inspect stock items for wear, defects, or damage, and promptly report issues to supervisors., • Determine appropriate storage methods, identification, and stock locations based on turnover, environmental conditions, and facility capabilities., • Provide assistance, guidance, and direction to other stockroom, warehouse, or storage yard workers when needed., • Work with a strong sense of urgency and purpose to help ensure prescriptions ship accurately and on time., • Stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks such as pushing, pulling, grasping, lifting, and carrying materials, including items up to 50 pounds., • Follow all safety, security, and operational procedures to protect people, data, property, and inventory.Essential Skills, • Strong verbal and written communication skills to read, record, and relay information clearly., • Analytical and problem-solving ability to investigate inventory discrepancies and resolve issues., • Ability to work effectively as a team player while maintaining a high level of attention to detail., • Knowledge of warehouse or stockroom operations, including inventory handling, picking, packing, and material handling., • Ability to use RF scanners and related warehouse equipment to support inventory and order picking activities., • Understanding of relevant equipment, policies, procedures, and strategies that support secure and compliant operations., • High school diploma or GED required., • 5–7 years of related warehouse, stockroom, or inventory experience required., • Willingness to work a flexible shift as scheduled (including early morning start times and weekend days)., • Ability and willingness to stand for at least 8 hours with or without reasonable accommodation., • Ability and willingness to perform physical tasks including pushing, pulling, grasping, and lifting with or without reasonable accommodation., • Ability and willingness to carry up to 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation.Additional Skills & Qualifications, • Experience in a climate-controlled, high-volume distribution or fulfillment environment., • Background in order picking, packing, and inventory control using RF scanners or similar technology., • Familiarity with safety and security practices in environments handling sensitive or critical products., • Comfort working in multiple warehouse departments, including tasks such as manually opening items, filling containers, checking orders, and placing orders., • Ability to stay focused and productive in a laid-back, casual environment while still meeting strict accuracy and timeliness standards.Why Work Here? Work Environment The facility is climate controlled, clean, and designed to support efficient warehouse and distribution operations. Work involves standing for most of the shift and performing physical tasks such as lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, and handling materials. The standard shift runs from 5:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., Wednesday through Saturday, with flexibility expected as needed. The operation uses RF scanners and related warehouse equipment for picking, packing, and inventory management. The atmosphere is laid back and casual; employees may work with one earbud in to listen to music and may keep their phone in their pocket, but using phones on the floor is not permitted. The dress code allows jeans, khakis, dress pants, capri pants (no shorter than mid-calf), scrubs, T-shirts, polo shirts, leggings, sweatpants, spandex pants, sneakers, and other closed-toe shoes, as well as jackets, hoodies, and sweaters without pockets. Sleeveless shirts, shorts, scarves or dangling jewelry, jackets, hoodies or sweaters with pockets, clothing with inappropriate words or graphics, hats or head coverings, ripped clothing that shows skin, exposed midriffs, and pajama pants are not allowed. Work may take place across several departments focused on manually opening items, filling containers, checking orders, and placing orders, all within a structured, safety-conscious environment. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Mechanicsville, VA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $15.00 - $15.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
