Job Description This is a Hybrid Position* Local Residents only please Position Overview: We are seeking a Director of Finance & Capital Strategy to lead and coordinate financial strategy across a growing, multi-entity organization that includes: • A nationally recognized public-interest law firm, • Multiple real estate holding entities Key Responsibilities: Firm Financial Management • Lead firm-wide financial planning, forecasting, and cash-flow management, • Monitor liquidity, reserves, and debt service obligations, • Support leadership with budgeting, scenario modeling, and financial reporting, • Oversee financial performance of all real estate entities and special-purpose vehicles, • Track property-level income, expenses, leverage, and collateral obligations, • Coordinate capital improvement planning and long-term asset performance analysis, • Serve as internal point of coordination for external professionals, including:, • CPAs and tax strategists, • Real estate and transactional counsel, • Cost segregation and valuation specialists, • Estate planning advisors, • Ensure major decisions are financially modeled, reviewed, and documented, • Identify financial, liquidity, and concentration risks across the portfolio, • Support long-term capital allocation and reinvestment strategies, • Assist leadership with multi-year planning and wealth preservation objectives, • Maintain consistency and compliance across all financial structures and entities Finance & Accounting Capability Enhancement · Structure, build out, and standardize a chart of accounts to set a foundation for scalable finance and accounting function. · Coordinate and manage the full end to end spectrum of Finance and Accounting across Clarkson – this will grow over time. · Build standard operating procedures across accounting (General Ledger, Time and Billing, Accounts Payable, Trust accounting, etc) in alignment to GAAP standards and best practices. · Nurture a culture of continuous improvement by proactively identifying, deriving solutions for, and guiding the execution of optimizing key processes and ways of working across firm finance, accounting, and capital strategy needs. Qualifications: Required • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field, • 10+ years of progressive experience in finance, capital strategy, or senior financial leadership roles, • Experience managing complex, multi-entity financial structures, • Strong financial modeling, forecasting, and analytical skills, • Experience working with external advisors (CPAs, attorneys, financial consultants), • Attention to detail with a high level of efficiency and accuracy, • CPA, CFA, or comparable advanced credential, • Background in real estate–intensive organizations, family offices, or professional services firms, • Experience with debt facilities, collateral management, and covenant compliance, • Strategic and analytical thinker with strong attention to detail, • Ability to manage confidential and sensitive financial information, • Strong communication skills with senior leadership and external partners, • Ability to operate independently and manage multiple priorities, • Sound judgment and a long-term perspective on financial decision-makingAttention to detail with a high level of efficiency and accuracy, • Not a bookkeeping or clerical accounting position, • Not a replacement for external legal or tax advisors Compensation & Benefits: • Competitive base salary, • Performance-based bonus, • Benefits package including health insurance, retirement plan, and paid time off Please submit: • A resume If you are a creative thinker with an underdog spirit, then this could be the place for you.
