Job Description The Senior Manager, Property Tax Appeals and Analysis, is a key member of the Public Storage tax team, responsible for strategically managing the property tax appeals process across a national portfolio. This position reports directly to the Director, Indirect Tax. The Role Tax Supervisors mentor, supervise, and aid in hiring tax staff; interface with multiple clients; and conduct the first review of individual, trust, partnership, corporate, and foreign tax returns prepared by the firm. Tax Supervisors work 40 hours per week and up to 60 hours per week during the busy season. The Tax Supervisor reports to the Tax Manager and Tax Partner. Job Description The Controller will oversee all aspects of the financial operations of the Company and its affiliates. The role requires a highly organized and detail-oriented individual with a strong understanding of Accounting and Finance principles that is seeking a challenging role with a growing and evolving firm. The successful candidate will be responsible for financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, general ledger maintenance, accounting policies and procedures and assisting with evaluating potential acquisitions. Additionally, the Controller will have ultimate responsibility for month-end and year-end closing processes, as well as ensuring compliance with all applicable accounting principles. Duties – 1. Prepare monthly balance sheets, income statements and profit and loss statements, 2. Maintain the general ledger, 3. Oversee reconciliation of company bank accounts, 4. Supervise and manage accounting department, 5. Supervise and manage accounts payable and accounts receivable, 6. Ensure timely and accurate month-end and year-end close process, 7. Develop, maintain, implement and improve internal financial controls and procedures to safeguard company and shareholder assets., 8. Manage budget preparation and financial forecasting, conduct financial analysis to identify trends, efficiencies and areas for cost reduction, 9. Coordinate and lead the annual audit process, 10. Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings, 11. Assist in formulating strategic and long-term business plans; collaborate with other executive leadership to provide insights and recommendations based on financial analysis., 12. Ensure compliance with SEC regulations regarding paying agent activity, 13. Communicating important financial information to key stakeholders, including department heads and senior management.
