This leader serves as a key business partner to the CEO and executive team, ensuring strong financial stewardship, operational discipline, and scalable systems that support sustainable growth. The Vice President of Finance must be both strategic and hands-on, with the ability to guide long-term financial direction while staying closely connected to core accounting and operational finance activities. Key Responsibilities • Serve as a member of the executive leadership team and align financial strategy with organizational goals, growth plans, and operational priorities., • Lead, develop, and support the finance team to ensure high-quality accounting, reporting, and service to internal stakeholders., • Oversee core finance and accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll coordination, and monthly close., • Lead annual budgeting and ongoing forecasting processes; provide clear financial insights, recommendations, and decision support to leadership., • Manage cash flow and working capital to maintain a healthy financial position and support growth initiatives., • Strengthen and scale financial systems, workflows, and internal controls to improve accuracy, efficiency, compliance, and visibility., • Own monthly and annual financial reporting, including financial statements, management reports, and key performance indicators., • Manage relationships with external financial partners, including tax and audit partners, banking partners, and key vendors., • Provide financial analysis and modeling for new products, programs, pricing strategies, and strategic initiatives., • Evaluate new business lines and revenue opportunities in partnership with the CEO and leadership team., • Ensure compliance with GAAP and applicable tax, regulatory, and reporting requirements., • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field., • CPA, • 10+ years of progressive finance and accounting experience, including significant senior-level or controller-level responsibility., • Strong working knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management., • Proven experience improving financial systems, processes, and internal controls in a growing or evolving organization., • Demonstrated ability to lead a finance team while remaining hands-on with key financial and accounting activities., • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail., • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, including the ability to present financial information clearly to non-financial leaders., • CMA, or advanced degree., • Experience in education, edTech, or mission-driven organizations., • Experience with multi-entity or multi-division financial reporting.
