ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: • Conducts, thorough needs assessment and develops a recovery plan to address identified disaster related un-met needs., • Providing relevant information and affective referrals for clients as part of a comprehensive and mutually agreed upon recovery plan., • Develops a relationship with client families so as to provide the best advocacy and direction for these families to ensure their reaching self-sufficiency., • Assist the survivor to determine the best course of action for both short- and long-term recovery., • Develop implements and monitors recovery plans with disaster survivors and their families to return at a minimum to pre-disaster level of well-being., • Provides extensive and intensive case management and follow-up services., • Provides crisis intervention to individuals and families facing emergencies around food, shelter, medical, re-construction and other needs as presented by client., • Utilizes knowledge of the resources available at all levels of government (federal, state, and local), as well as government and community resources to make appropriate referrals to resolve identified issues., • Mobilizes resources to achieve desired outcomes in accordance with service plan goals., • Maintain timely input and upkeep of client records., • Conduct home visits, as necessary., • Advocates and interacts with other service providers on behalf of participants., • Ensures complete case files and presents case files to Case Management Supervisor for review., • Maintains current and accurate documentation of services provided to clients., • Identifies and connects disaster survivors to resources on the local, state, and federal level., • Assist clients in applying for and receiving public and private benefits., • Network with Long Term Recovery group and the community to provide referrals and resources to participants., • Acting as a liaison to internal programs, external collaborations, and funding entities, • Represents The Salvation Army and its programs at meetings and events in a respectful and positive manner., • Attends meetings and events as required by the Disaster Services Director, • Comply with Salvation Army procedural requirements, including those set forth in the Employee Handbook, and all safety-related manuals., • Perform other work-related duties as assigned. EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE: • Bachelor’s degree or at least three years of relevant social services case management experience in the social services field., • Previous disaster experience a plus., • Preferably candidate will have the knowledge of social services and local resources with demonstrated ability to provide referral information to meet individual and family needs. Key Highlights • Weekly pay: $1,804–$1,933 per week, • Guaranteed hours: 60 hours per 2-week pay period, • Start date: 05/04/2026, • Shift: 3x12-hour days, • Assignment type: Travel - Temporary Assignment, • Unit/setting: Medical ICU, high-acuity, Level II trauma center, • Orientation: 24 hours Responsibilities • Deliver direct patient care for adult and geriatric ICU patients with medically complex, critically ill conditions (e.g., respiratory failure, ARDS, post-CVL, severe shock, post-procedural care)., • Manage ventilator support (including HFNC, BiPAP/CPAP), perform arterial/central line care, and monitor/ titrate vasoactive/cardiac drips; interpret ABGs; administer IV therapies., • Assist with procedures such as chest tubes, rapid sequence intubation, paracentesis/thoracentesis, and procedural sedation monitoring; provide post-procedure care., • Monitor patient status, recognize dysrhythmias, respond to codes, and support proning and temperature management (TTM) as needed., • Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team (RN, CNA, RT, PT, pharmacy, IV team) with standard staffing of 1 CNA per shift; communicate clearly in handoffs and care plans., • Maintain meticulous documentation in the Epic electronic charting system; ensure accurate, timely updates and compliance with unit protocols., • Provide care within typical 2:1 ratios, with potential adjustments (up to 4:1 when boarders are grouped); participate in patient/family education and safety initiatives., • May be asked to float to step-down or tele units as part of staffing, with appropriate orientation and supervision. Requirements • Licensure: Active RN license in Washington or a WA Compact; traveling assignment with non-local status (locals not accepted)., • Experience: Minimum 2 years of RN experience; trauma Level II exposure is required; patient-ratio experience around 2:1 preferred; first-time travelers accepted only with 2–3 years of experience., • Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS required., • Education: Standard RN qualifications; EPIC charting experience preferred., • References: Minimum 2 supervisory references covering 1 year total within the last 3 years., • Skills: Ventilator management, invasive line care, vasoactive drips, ABG interpretation, chest tube and airway management, post-cardiac cath care, proning, TTM familiarity., • Scheduling: Weekend shifts required; pre-approved time off limited to two requests; 24-hour orientation provided., • Onboarding: Pre-start modules average ~16 hours (non-billable); >20 hours requires approval., • Additional: Must be comfortable with high-acuity, fast-paced ICU operations and be able to work EPIC-based documentation reliably.
