Position Overview We are looking for Underwriters to join Neto Capital's underwriting and financial analysis team — we welcome candidates across all experience levels, from those early in their underwriting career to seasoned professionals ready to take on complex files and lead within the team. The scope of the role and level of responsibility will be tailored based on the candidate's experience. This is an analytical, dynamic, and central role in the company's decision-making process. Underwriters are responsible for analyzing financing applications, reviewing financial data, working with bank statements, identifying risks, preparing underwriting summaries, and supporting (or, depending on experience, independently driving) data-driven decision-making processes. More experienced Underwriters will also take ownership of higher-exposure and complex deals, mentor newer team members, and contribute to underwriting policy and risk framework development. As part of the role, Underwriters will make ongoing use of the company's AI and ML-based underwriting tools, designed to improve analysis quality, identify patterns and risks, streamline workflows, and support faster and more accurate decision-making — and, for more senior candidates, help refine those tools based on real-world underwriting experience. We are looking for people who not only know how to work with numbers, but also understand the story behind the data, identify irregularities, ask the right questions, think outside the box, and turn financial information into clear and practical recommendations. Key Responsibilities • Review and analyze new business financing applications, ranging from routine to complex and higher-exposure files depending on experience level., • Analyze bank statements, cash flow data, revenue, expenses, balances, returns, liabilities, and financial activity patterns., • Conduct cash flow analysis and assess the financial capacity and risk exposure of businesses., • Identify trends, irregularities, warning signs, and potential risks in financing files., • Review client documents, financial statements, credit data, business documents, and additional supporting information., • Prepare clear and organized underwriting summaries for decision-making purposes., • Develop and, depending on experience, independently finalize recommendations regarding approvals, declines, terms, pricing, exposure, and risk level., • Use the company's AI and ML-based underwriting tools on an ongoing basis as part of the financing analysis, risk identification, and decision-making process, and help refine these tools based on real-world experience., • Provide professional feedback on internal underwriting tools, identify gaps, suggest improvements, and support the improvement of data-driven workflows., • Work with management, product, and technology teams to support continuous improvement of underwriting processes, models, data, automation, and workflows., • Work with Excel / Google Sheets for analysis, checks, reconciliations, calculations, and controls., • Use AI tools for information analysis, data organization, checks, research, document summaries, and workflow improvement., • Work with CRM systems, underwriting tools, bank verification tools, and other internal systems., • Support data-driven decision-making and work closely with Risk, Sales, Operations, and company management., • Identify recurring patterns, file issues, improvement opportunities, and insights that can help improve underwriting processes., • Maintain accuracy, organization, and proper documentation of data, decisions, documents, and processes., • Mentor, train, and support the development of newer team members as experience grows., • Contribute to underwriting policies, credit guidelines, and risk frameworks as experience grows. Requirements • Bachelor's degree required., • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business Administration, Mathematics, Statistics, Data Analytics, or a related field — strong advantage., • Experience in an analytical, financial, underwriting, credit, banking, FinTech, lending, operations analysis, or similar role — required (open to candidates ranging from 1+ years to 5+ years of experience)., • Strong proficiency in Excel / Google Sheets — required., • Strong analytical ability and ability to work with complex financial data., • Understanding of bank statements, cash flow, revenue, expenses, liabilities, and financial risks — depth of understanding scaled to experience level., • Experience using AI tools for analysis, summaries, research, checks, and process improvement — required., • Ability to work with underwriting tools, data analysis systems, and AI/ML-based tools as part of financial decision-making processes., • Strong understanding of the connection between data, underwriting, risk, and business decision-making., • Fast and independent learning ability., • Ability to work independently with strong organization and attention to detail., • Critical thinking and ability to identify irregularities, risks, and unusual patterns., • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic, and multi-tasking environment., • Ability to communicate conclusions clearly and in an organized way., • Sound judgment, personal responsibility, and discretion when working with sensitive financial information. Nice to Have • Previous experience in FinTech, lending, business financing, credit underwriting, risk analysis, or financial operations., • Experience analyzing business bank statements., • Experience working with data-driven underwriting tools, automation, AI/ML, or credit decisioning platforms., • Prior experience mentoring, training, or leading other underwriters or analysts., • Experience developing or contributing to underwriting policies, credit guidelines, or risk frameworks., • Interest in AI-driven underwriting, risk scoring, financial data analysis, and process automation., • Familiarity with CRM or underwriting platforms., • Familiarity with tools such as Plaid, DecisionLogic, Ocrolus, Salesforce, HubSpot, DataMerch, TLOxp, or similar systems., • Experience building models, dashboards, templates, or analysis reports in Excel / Google Sheets., • Basic to strong understanding of AI/ML, data workflows, or automation., • Experience working in a startup or growing company., • Additional languages — advantage.
