This is a 13-week travel contract with a start date of September 22, 2025. As a crucial member of our team, you'll float between various critical care units, including the Neuro ICU, Surgical ICU, Burn ICU, Trauma, and Intermediate Care/Progressive units, providing exceptional patient care in a Level I Trauma Center and Magnet®-designated hospital. • Location: Madison, WI, • Profession: Registered Nurse, • Specialty: Critical Care Float, • Job Duration: 13 weeks, • Shift: Nights, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00 - 07:30), • Float Requirements: Required to float to multiple critical care and intermediate units. Travelers are the first to float., • Weekend Coverage: Every other weekend (6-7 weekend shifts per contract), • Patient Ratio: 1:3 (Days/Nights), • Orientation: 36 hours of paid orientation., • Experience:, • 2 years of recent acute care experience within the last 3 years in a critical care setting., • Previous experience in multiple ICU units is required (Neuro ICU, Cardiothoracic, Burn ICU, Trauma Surgery, etc.)., • Required experience in a Level I Trauma Center., • Must have experience working with adult patient populations., • Successfully completed at least one 13-week travel assignment., • Charting System:, • EPIC experience is required, with a preference for experience within the last 12 months., • Licensure & Certifications:, • Active Wisconsin or Compact State RN license., • ACLS and BLS certifications are required through the American Heart Association (AHA) ONLY., • Skills:, • Required Skills:, • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), • Basic Life Support (BLS), • Interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, • Starting IVs, central line care, and PICC line management, • Ventilator Management, high-flow nasal cannula, and BiPAP/CPAP assistance, • Titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips, • Administering continuous IV sedation and emergency medications, • CVA/Acute Stroke management and traumatic brain injury care, • Infection prevention and isolation precautions, • Experience with arterial lines, blood product administration, and phlebotomy., • Pre-Employment Testing:, • A telemetry exam is required prior to starting. A passing score of 80% or higher is needed, with 100% identification of lethal rhythms (Ventricular fibrillation, ventricular tachycardia, asystole) and no incorrect answers on questions regarding 3rd-degree heart blocks.
