Job Description Job Title CNC Laser Operator Department Production Position Type Full Time/1st Shift/Non-Exempt Reports To Production Control Supervisor Working Hours Monday-Thursday 6:00am-4:30pm Job Summary Responsible for setting up, programming, and operating CNC laser cutting machines to produce precision parts and components according to specifications. This role requires attention to detail, a strong understanding of technical drawings, and the ability to work in a fast-paced production environment. Roles and Responsibilities • Set up and operate CNC laser cutting machine according to work orders, blueprints, and engineering drawings., • Select, position, and secure tool in tool holder (chuck, collet, or tool-post)., • Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of laser equipment to ensure optimal operation., • Load and unload materials, inspect finished parts for accuracy and quality using calipers, micrometers, and other measurement tools., • Adjust machine settings and programs as needed to maintain quality and efficiency., • Monitor production processes and troubleshoot issues to minimize downtime., • Maintain accurate production records and report any deviations or defects., • Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment., • Read blueprints or job order for product specifications (dimensions and tolerances) and tooling instructions (fixtures, feed rates, cutting speeds, depth of cut), and determine the sequence of operations., • Report any malfunction, programming error, damaged machinery/tooling/equipment/product, and/or any other nonconformities immediately to the Supervisor., • Report and/or communicate any defects found and complete appropriate paperwork., • Follow corresponding work instructions and Quality Check Sheets., • High School Diploma or equivalent., • 1+ year of experience operating CNC laser machines in a manufacturing setting., • Speak, read, and write English., • Successfully pass drug screen., • Successfully pass background check., • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills, • Ability to work independently and as part of a team., • Experience with materials such as steel, aluminum, or stainless., • Familiarity with nesting software., • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement., • Understanding of company Quality Policy and fundamentals of ISO 9001., • Ability to collect data, define problems, establish facts, and draw a valid conclusion., • Mechanically inclined with a precise attention to detail., • Ability to perform basic math functions, including trigonometry., • Ability to use the latest technology/software provided by company., • Have solid written and verbal communication skills that can be practiced at all levels of the organization., • Ability to adhere to all OSHA safety rules and regulations., • Ability to work with deadlines., • Have good organizational skills and precise attention to detail., • Have an excellent sense of priorities and be a self-motivator., • Physical Demands:, • Lift (manually or using hoist), position, and secure workpiece in a chuck., • Physical ability to stand for long periods, lift materials (up to 50 lbs.), and work in a production environment., • Stand, walk, push, pull, climb stairs and ladders, reach overhead and bend to the floor., • Exert up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or exert up to 10 pounds of force frequently., • Basic color perception, peripheral and depth perception, close vision of 20 inches or less, distance vision of more than 20 feet are required for reading blueprints and any required customer documentation., • Near acuity and accommodation are required for reading machine dial gauges, blueprints and precision measuring instruments used in the inspection of parts., • Ability to monitor machine sounds to identify and diagnose changes in order to take appropriate action., • Working Environment/Conditions:, • Moderate to high noise levels from operating machines., • Physical hazard being exposed to moving equipment and machine parts., • Skin exposure to oils and cutting fluid., • Heat/humid/cold weather conditions., • May be required to follow other job-related instructions and to perform other job-related duties as requested, subject to all applicable state and federal laws., • Fanatical About Precision - We build correct and efficient processes, and we execute them with relentless accuracy.
