Purpose The HR Business Partner provides practical, commercially aware HR support across both strategic and operational areas. The role supports the HRD in turning people plans into clear, actionable activity while ensuring the smooth, effective delivery of day-to-day HR operations. Acting as a trusted and reliable advisor to managers and leaders, the HRBP balances longer-term people planning, with HR delivery to help maintain a compliant, engaged and high-performing workforce. You will be • Partnering with leaders to help shape people strategies aligned with our business objectives, • A visible, hands-on HRBP who supports day-to-day operational delivery while balancing complex people matters, • Confident operating across admin-heavy operational tasks and strategic project work, • Skilled in coaching and mentoring, with a collaborative approach to helping people develop, • An effective influencer with strong communication, networking and relationship-building abilities, • A pragmatic problem-solver who combines commercial insight with sound HR practice Role responsibilities • Supporting the HRD in partnering with managers and senior leaders to develop and execute people strategies that support our business performance: absence improvement, development pathways, talent retention and recruitment, • Collaborating with our outsourced HR partner to provide expert, practical guidance on employee relations and signposting managers to this service where relevant, • Maintaining awareness and knowledge of UK employment legislation to minimise and mitigate organisational risk and supporting the HRD with policy updates and compliance, • Supporting and overseeing operational HR delivery, ensuring consistent and effective implementation and application of people policies and procedures, • Analysing people data to identify trends and recommend both strategic interventions and immediate operational actions, • Coaching and mentoring line managers to build capability and accountability in people management, • Working with the HR Administrator to oversee people processes such as recruitment, onboarding, probation, etc The ideal candidate will bring • Proven experience in a generalist HR or Business Partner role, ideally in a small to mid-size UK-based organisation. German, Swiss or US experience is desirable but not essential, • A strong ability to comfortably operate in a blended strategic and admin-heavy operational HR role, • Excellent multi-tasking skills with a superior ability to manage conflicting priorities, • Strong working knowledge of UK employment legislation and practical application of it in complex scenarios, • A track record of managing high-risk and sensitive employee relations matters, • Strong stakeholder management, influencing and coaching skills
