The Role This is an outstanding opportunity to join a prestigious national law firm in Southampton, recognised for its expertise in insurance litigation and personal injury law. The firm is seeking an experienced Large Loss & Indemnity Associate to join its expanding team, handling high-value RTA claims and managing complex indemnity and liability matters. You will manage your own caseload of multi-track personal injury claims typically valued up to £1 million, while also assisting senior lawyers with catastrophic injury cases exceeding that value. The role includes full responsibility for progressing claims from instruction to resolution, addressing all aspects of liability, quantum, and indemnity. You will advise insurer clients on complex coverage issues and policy considerations, including matters relating to the Road Traffic Act, MIB Agreements, and the Consumer Insurance Act. You will maintain regular and strategic communication with insurer clients, attend conferences and court appointments where necessary, and delegate tasks to more junior team members, contributing to their development. You will also be expected to maintain accurate case management records, achieve a chargeable hours target, and support wider team objectives, including client development initiatives.
