SECURITY OPERATIONS MANAGER Location: London and surrounding territories Salary: £50,000 + Car Join an Award-Winning Business That Puts People First We’re a leading national security, commercial cleaning and associated services provider. As we continue to expand, we’re looking for an exceptional Security Operations Manager to join our rapidly growing team. What You’ll Be Doing Operational Account Planning and Delivery • Oversee day-to-day security operations across all client sites., • Ensure that security staff are deployed effectively according to client contracts and operational needs., • Monitor service quality and take corrective action when performance issues arise., • Implement and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for all security operations., • Ensure your operational portfolio has an appropriate and compliant resource base to deliver against client expectations., • Support our company-wide Employee Engagement Strategy that sets us apart in terms of how we care for our employees at all levels., • Develop and maintain productive and collaborative working relationships with all departments and support functions within the business. Client Perspective (existing and new) • Serve as the primary contact for clients, ensuring satisfaction with security services., • Conduct regular client meetings, site visits, and performance evaluations., • Address and resolve client complaints or incidents promptly., • Prepare operational and incident reports for clients as required., • Take responsibility for the mobilising of new contracts to ensure a ‘right first time’ approach facilitating a sound platform to build the relationship, • Play an active part in being an ambassador for the business by ensuring you personally engage with social media challenges, internal communications and wider networking opportunities. Operative Perspective – Ensure all operatives are offered suitable work in line with our contractual obligations and receive a professional and proactive service • Recruit, train, and supervise security personnel, including guards and Supervisors., • Conduct performance reviews, appraisals, and disciplinary procedures as necessary., • Prepare and manage duty rosters and ensure adequate shift coverage., • Promote a culture of professionalism, teamwork, and accountability among staff., • Ensure at all times that Health & Safety and Compliance with relevant legislation is an absolute priority throughout the business, minimising risks to employees, third parties and the company People & Learning Perspective – Manage the performance and development of employees to maximise productivity, exceed targets and ensure staff retention • Communicate the company’s vision and mission throughout the Company, ensuring clarity of purpose and engagement from all levels of staff, • Lead, manage and mentor all direct reports; motivating on an individual and team basis, to achieve the targets and objectives set by the business, • Identify and analyse any performance or behavioural issues and ensure that the appropriate performance management tools are applied promptly, to ensure the necessary improvement Operations Perspective – Maximise productivity and deliver an efficient and effective service to clients through the application of agreed company processes and procedures • Ensure compliance with all current and new company processes, procedures and service related legislation to deliver a fully compliant workforce, • Provide leadership and support to your team to deliver company initiatives and objectives, • Support and champion relevant change initiatives Financial Perspective – Deliver profitable turnover and encourage service growth • Enhance profitability where practicably and ethically possible, • Inform the Regional Operations Manager, Director – Security and Finance Director immediately about any real or perceived threats to the financial performance of the Company or any items which will materially impact upon forecasts What We’re Looking For • Service line operational expertise in the allocated service discipline area., • Excellent people management skills and experience of leading and managing multiple site, geographically diverse teams, • Experience of working in a client service driven environment, • Proactive advocate and user of social media channels to demonstrate client and employee engagement, • Experience of working closely alongside a business development team and can demonstrate new business wins and development of existing business, • Strong financial and commercial awareness, including legal governance and contractual terms adherence, • Ability to think strategically and contribute to the businesses forward ambitions, • Excellent communication skills – both verbal and written, • Confident presentation skills, • Self-motivated and able to adapt to a changing environment, • Skilled influencer, • Demonstrates the ability to forge and maintain relationships, • Good organisational and time management skills, • IT skills, specifically Word, Excel and PowerPoint, • Ability to work collaboratively, • Must hold a full UK driving license with no more than 6 penalty points, • SIA Licence Most importantly — you lead by example, influence with credibility, and build relationships that last. The Opportunity The HR Generalist will support the HR Director, Head of HR and other HR members in all HR’s practices and objectives that will provide an employee-oriented high-performance culture within the business. You will be required to perform in all HR functions, including ER, TUPE and Restructure process, HR Admin management, Talent and Performance Management, and rapidly learn to overcome challenges. Reporting directly to the Head of HR and working closely with colleagues to ensure all HR duties are undertaken in accordance with employment law, company policy and ensuring any risk to the business is minimised. What You’ll Be Doing HR duties: • Support, develop and implement all HR related processes and strategies aligned to the business objectives, including clause ER case management., • Support and coach the management team on all people leadership matters, including business change and transformation. Forming strong relationships with the management team to be able to challenge and coach in a high-performance environment., • Partner the management team to project manage organisational and procedural changes within the business area., • Be responsible for all HR management and development (including ER/Case Management, TUPE/Restructuring procedures, recruitment and selection practices, discipline, grievance, mentoring, absence management, contracts, training and development, talent management, succession planning, driving performance appraisals and any other HR related issues)., • Monitor, manage and measure and report on HR issues, opportunities and development plans and achievements within agreed formats and timescales, including clause ER case management for the assigned areas, • Continuously Liaise with Managers to understand their HR requirements, reduce ER cases across all categories, and ensure they are fully informed of the HR objectives to drive the organisation forward., • Keep up to date with HR legislation and provide relevant training as when required, as well as per agreed schedule, • Update the company server with timely, relevant forms, policies and procedures to ensure accessibility for employees at all times., • To facilitate as a mediator when required to try and resolve employee grievances. Admin Related: • End to end TUPE management and related documents preparation (TUPE in /TUPE out), • Support the Recruitment Department with the entire onboarding process including but not limited to, creating and/or managing: Internal ads, offer letter & employment contracts, and arranging induction/onboarding experience, • Carry out Right to Work checks for current employees who’s right to work are due to expire and right to work checks for all new hires., • Maintain records of personnel-related data (payroll, personal information, leaves) in both paper and the database and ensure all employment requirements are met, • Liaise with other departments or functions (payroll, IT, SHEQ etc) when required, • Support the Payroll Department by providing the relevant documentation/information in a timely manner, • Carry out the DBS checks for all and current employees, • Carry out the applications for passes for the Virgin Contract, • Ensure that the Probation Procedure it is being adhered to and all parties involved are following it, • Carry out reference checks for new employees, • Manage the HR inbox in a timely and professional manner, • Produce and submit reports on general HR activity on a monthly basis, • Assist in ad-hoc HR projects, • Ready to perform any ad-hoc HR management related duties instructed by the Head of HR or HR Director. Recruitment duties: • Manage recruitment needs for the company such as in-house advertisement for senior positions., • Creating and continually improving offer letters and contracts of employment, whilst managing the timely distribution of such documents. Training duties: • Manage a training plan that details required training that is delivered within the agreed/specific timescales and ensure outcomes are appropriately measured and reported on., • Liaise with other managers to understand all necessary aspects of their learning and development needs, and to ensure they are fully informed of corporate learning and development objectives., • Develop and deliver training and communications materials to support learning and development needs., • Ensure training activities meet and integrate with company strategies and policies., • Write and deliver training lessons to continue personal development of Line Managers throughout the company., • Manage the organisation and delivery of company induction sessions, including writing and delivering the presentations., • Maintain the currency of the Training Matrix and share the information company-wide. Officer Responsibilities: • To assist and advise Company managers/directors on HR policy, practice, procedure and issues., • To represent the company in a positive, professional manner at all times. What We’re Looking For • Prioritisation and time management, • Proven track record as a HR generalist, in an HR environment, • Officer/Adviser/Generalist role, • Interpersonal relationships, discretion and confidentiality, • Knowledge of employment law, ER processes, Right to Work and DBS checks, TUPE law and ER practices, • Experience of report writing utilising excel, word and power point, • Ability to communicate at all levels, • Problem solving skills, • Ability to innovate to create and implement continuous, • improvement initiatives, • Experience of designing and writing HR policies, procedures, offers, • and contracts of employment, • Adaptability and flexibility – willing to work on a variety of projects and perform in multiple roles Other Requirements: • Flexibility to work at multiple locations with nation travel involved (up to 2-4 nights per month away from home maybe expected on occasion to meet business requirements), • Excellent IT and Microsoft skills The Package • £29,000–£31,000 basic salary, • Performance bonus, • 35 days holiday (including bank holidays), • Hybrid working (up to 2 days from home following 6 month probation)
