Role: Head of Solution/Presales Salary/Package: Up to £90,000 basic + Bonus Overview Our client is a leading UK-based IT services provider specialising in cyber security, cloud, and managed services. As a privately owned and well-established business, they continue to experience strong year-on-year growth and are recognised for their technical excellence, customer focus, and people-first culture. Due to continued expansion, they are seeking a Head of Solution/Presales to lead and develop a high-performing Solutions Engineering / Pre-Sales function, supporting a busy and ambitious commercial team. The Role This is a senior, client-facing leadership role acting as the technical authority for the sales organisation. You will work closely with sales and senior stakeholders, attending customer meetings, uncovering business challenges, and designing best-fit technical solutions. You will lead and mentor a team of Solutions Engineers, set standards for technical excellence, and take ownership of pre-sales strategy and execution. The role also involves delivering presentations, workshops, webinars, and client-facing events, helping position the business as a trusted technical adviser. Reporting directly to the Chief Commercial Officer, this position sits at the centre of the organisation’s growth strategy. Key Responsibilities • Lead, mentor, and develop the Solutions Engineering team, providing strategic direction and day-to-day management • Deliver high-quality technical pre-sales services to new and existing customers • Act as a trusted technical adviser throughout the sales lifecycle • Support sales teams with technical expertise during meetings, discovery sessions, and opportunity qualification • Deliver product demonstrations, presentations, webinars, and client workshops • Design and deliver Proofs of Concept (POCs) and tailored demonstrations • Analyse competitive solutions and recommend the most suitable technical approach • Take a leading role in solution architecture, proposals, scopes of work, and tender responses Skills and Experience Essential • Proven experience as a Senior Pre-Sales Engineer, Solutions Architect, or similar role • Background working within an IT MSP or VAR environment • Broad technical knowledge across IT infrastructure, cloud, and security • Strong customer-facing and stakeholder-engagement skills • Confident presenter able to communicate complex technical concepts clearly • Experience producing proposals, tenders, and customer-facing documentation • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel • UK-based with the right to work Desirable • Previous experience leading or managing a technical or pre-sales team • Experience or certifications across Microsoft 365, Azure, VMware, Cisco, Fortinet, Sophos, N-Able, Mimecast, or Barracuda • Experience delivering webinars, workshops, or public-facing technical presentations • Strong commercial awareness and relationship-building skills Package and Benefits • Up to £90,000 basic with bonus's • 25+ days’ holiday plus bank holidays • Flexible / hybrid working • Private medical cover and health cash plan • Pension scheme • Cycle to work and electric vehicle schemes • Paid charity day • On-site parking Set2Recruit are acting as an employment agency in relation to this vacancy
