An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Knowledge Exchange Manager to join a large, complex higher education organisation. This senior post plays a key role in leading knowledge exchange, commercialisation and external engagement activity, supporting institutional objectives around research impact, innovation, income generation and partnerships. Key Responsibilities • Lead and manage a specialist knowledge exchange team, ensuring high-quality, responsive support to academic and professional stakeholders, • Drive the development and delivery of knowledge exchange, commercialisation and external engagement activity across the organisation, • Support academics and teams to develop, bid for and deliver externally funded projects and partnerships, • Lead intellectual property management, commercialisation strategies and venture creation activity, • Oversee the end-to-end pipeline for IP identification, protection, licensing and spin-out development, • Work with finance, legal services and external advisers to oversee contracts, IP transactions and commercial agreements, • Improve performance outcomes relating to income generation, partnerships, impact and sustainability, • Embed effective governance, compliance and reporting arrangements across knowledge exchange activity, • Lead the preparation of internal and external performance reporting and accountability documentation, • Develop and deliver training, guidance and development activity to build commercial capability and confidence, • Represent the organisation externally with partners, networks and stakeholders as required, • Ensure ethical practice, equality, diversity and inclusion are integral to all engagement and partnership activity, • Maintain accurate systems, documentation and records to support auditability and decision-makingIdeal Candidate Profile, • Significant senior-level experience in knowledge exchange, technology transfer, research commercialisation or innovation management within higher education or a related environment, • Strong understanding of intellectual property, licensing, spin-out creation and commercial negotiation, • Proven experience managing complex partnerships, contracts and stakeholder relationships, • Demonstrable people-management experience, including leading and developing high-performing teams, • Experience operating within governance, compliance and reporting frameworks, • Strategic thinker with strong operational delivery skills, • Confident working autonomously and influencing at senior level, • Strong analytical, organisational and prioritisation skills, • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, • Proactive, resilient and solutions-focused approach Working Pattern: Full-time, 3 days on-site Contract: Initial 6 weeks Rate: £325 - £375 per day (paid via an Umbrella)
