An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced Financial Accountant to join my client’s finance team. In this role, you will provide essential support to senior finance leaders and play a key part in delivering accurate reporting, maintaining strong financial controls, and ensuring full compliance with statutory obligations. The ideal candidate will bring solid technical accounting knowledge alongside excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across the organisation. Key Responsibilities: • Prepare statutory accounts and manage the year-end audit process in partnership with external auditors, • Produce high-quality management accounts supported by timely reconciliations and insightful analysis, • Complete accurate VAT returns, corporation tax submissions, and all statutory filings, • Maintain the fixed asset register and take ownership of monthly close activities, • Provide guidance to colleagues and stakeholders on accounting principles and financial policies, • Lead capital expenditure assessments and support governance of investment proposals, • Assist with internal audits and ensure adherence to group reporting standards, • Contribute to the development of finance systems, including an upcoming ERP implementation project Skills & Experience: • Part-qualified or finalist ACA, ACCA, CIMA (or equivalent). Strong Qualified by Experience candidates also considered., • Advanced Excel skills and confidence working with complex financial data, • High level of accuracy and attention to detail, • Well-organised, proactive, and able to manage multiple priorities independently, • Strong communicator who builds effective working relationships at all levels You'll be expected to work 4 days a week in the office (which is based just South of Cambridge), with the option of 1 day working from home. Hours of work are 9-5 with 30 minutes for lunch.
