Team Introduction: As a part of the Commercial team you will be a vital member of the function in taking significant responsibility for the accuracy and effectiveness of the sales process and data. You will gain; • Ownership over a mission-critical system (Salesforce) and considerable influence on how it evolves, • Opportunity to shape how data drives sales strategy and processes, • Exposure to cross-functional business operations and commercial decision-making, • Chance to rapidly develop skills in CRM, analytics, process design, and systems architecture, • A collaborative working environment where your suggestions and improvements are valued Role Description/Purpose of the role: We are seeking a motivated, technically capable individual with a STEM background who can rapidly pick up new skills in software, coding, and data analysis. In this role, you will take ownership of our Salesforce CRM system—configuring, maintaining, and improving it over time. You will also harness the data within to generate actionable insights that support our commercial growth and decision-making. You will serve as the bridge between data infrastructure, sales operations, and commercial strategy. Key Responsibilities: Administer, maintain, and configure our Salesforce CRM instance • Manage user accounts, permissions, profiles, roles, • Design and update page layouts, record types, validation rules, workflows, process builders / flows, • Integrate with other systems (if applicable) and maintain data syncs, • Monitor system health, perform regular audits, manage backups & cleanup Identify, propose, and implement enhancements to the CRM • Gather requirements from users, translate into system changes, • Optimize processes and automate repetitive tasks, • Ensure the configuration scales as the company grows Data analysis & insights • Extract, clean, and transform CRM data to support reporting, • Build dashboards, reports, and visualizations for sales leadership, • Perform deeper analytics (segmentation, cohort analysis, pipeline leakage, forecasting), • Draw conclusions and present recommendations to commercial stakeholders Sales pipeline governance & process support • Enforce data quality standards and completeness, • Define and document pipeline stages, business rules, and workflows, • Monitor process adherence, flag anomalies and recommend corrective action, • Serve as a subject-matter expert on how sales data maps to commercial outcomes Cross-functional collaboration • Work with sales, marketing, operations, product teams to ensure CRM supports workflows, • Provide training, support, and documentation to end users, • Act as the voice of data and CRM best practices within the company Key Skills/Experience/Competencies: • Demonstrable ability / comfort learning new software, coding languages, and data tools, • Experience with (or strong desire to learn) CRM systems — ideally Salesforce, • Strong analytical skills, with ability to work with large data sets and derive insights, • Proficiency in SQL, data manipulation (e.g. Excel / Python / Power BI tools), • Understanding of sales & commercial processes and metrics (pipeline, funnel, conversion rates, forecast), • Meticulous attention to detail and strong problem-solving mindset, • Excellent communication skills — able to explain data-driven insights to non-technical stakeholders, • Self-starter attitude and ability to manage multiple projects and priorities Desirable but not essential: • Salesforce Administrator certification (or willingness to obtain), • Experience building complex Salesforce flows, Apex, or custom coding, • Experience integrating Salesforce with Marketing Automation tools or other business systems, • Prior exposure to sales operations or revenue operations, • Experience in a scale-up or high-growth environment Education/Qualifications: • Degree in a STEM discipline (e.g. Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, Physics, etc.) Additional Requirements: • Candidates should also be highly organised and motivated individuals with effective communication skills, a good work ethic, and a commitment to technical excellence, personal efficiency, and career progression through Continued Professional Development., • Full Driving License (Only include if driving is an essential part of the job, either routinely or occasionally.
