Assistant Design Manager – Devon Are you looking to take the next step in your career and move into design management? We’re working with a leading main contractor who is seeking an Assistant Design Manager to join their Southwest team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with design coordination or technical experience who is ready to progress into a management role. The Role As an Assistant Design Manager, you’ll support senior managers in coordinating and overseeing the design process on projects ranging from £10m to £100m. Working across sectors such as Education, Leisure, Transport, Commercial, Residential, and Public Sector facilities, you’ll gain exposure to complex, high-value projects and develop the skills to become a future Design Manager. Key Responsibilities • Assist with managing the design process to ensure outputs meet project goals, specifications, and budgets., • Support in the appointment and coordination of consultants., • Help develop and monitor design programmes to align with project milestones., • Attend and contribute to design team meetings, following up on action points., • Ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements., • Experience in a design, technical, or coordination role within construction., • Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively in multi-disciplinary teams., • A good understanding of building regulations and design processes., • Strong organisational skills with attention to detail., • A proactive attitude and willingness to take on responsibility.
